And for some, it still just ain't enough, because within a very short time someone posted a screed purporting to have discovered 'inconsistencies' which would lead one to believe the released document is, itself, a forgery.
My word, but at what point does it just go away? I'm sick and tired of Mr. Oblah-blah, sure, but this is getting ridiculous, and is probably the first sign of a political neurosis: If we could have Bush Derangement Syndrome, then why not an Obama Derangement Syndrome?
I wrote this a few weeks ago, when Donald Trump re-opened the whole Birther controversy. The money quote:
"I'm no fan of Barack Obama, believe me, but at this point trying to get him tossed from office on such skinny hopes reeks of the Prosecuting Attorney who went into court with a murder weapon, the suspect's fingerprints and DNA, three eyewitnesses, a confession and the whole crime captured on videotape, loses his case through incredible stupidity -- and then tries to get the accused busted on a jaywalking rap, just to save face.Barack Obama's Birth Certificate just might turn out to be the political equivalent of The Bloody Glove."
And so it still might, because now the argument is: he's released the records you wanted, Nutjobs, and you're still not satisfied? What else do you want? If you thought the Dhimmicratic Party was out to question your sanity then, just you wait.
As for Donald Trump, he got himself to a press conference so quickly that he left a vapor trail behind. Of course, he took credit for finally forcing the President to release a Birth Certificate, and then quickly changed the subject: When are you going to release you college transcripts, Mr. O?
Really?
Personally, I think the whole Birth Certificate kerfuffle was always a waste of time. I find it difficult to believe that the man was able to run for office, first in Illinois, and then for the Presidency, without having to offer an official birth certificate at some point along the way. I'm sure that when Mr. Obama applied for a driver's licence, a passport, or registered for school, a birth certificate, likewise, was required. Somewhere along the way, you figure someone could have found a copy of the damned thing anytime they wanted to, including the President himself. The only reason I can see for Mr.Obama letting this little drama go on for so long was because it gave him the excuse to attack his opposition and paint them as insane racists who can't handle having a (half-)black dude in the Oval Office. That's basically the gift that keeps on giving, in democratic party politics.
Which begs the question; then why make such a show of releasing it at all?
Answer: expect some extremely bad news by the end of the week.
Insanity is not a disease; it's a defense mechanism. The opinions expressed here are disturbing and often disgusting to those with no sense of humor. I make no apologies for them, either. Contact the Lunatic at Excelsior502@gmail.com.

The Word of God...Or Performance Art?
It must be my face. There is, maybe, something on my ugly mug that says "Come on, you can talk to me...Let me hear whatever insanity it is that's rattling around inside your head. I'll give it a fair hearing, and won't laugh or get hostile, honestly!"
Scene from the Staten Island Ferry, approximately 8:30 P.M., Sunday, December 5th, 2010;
We find our hero (that would be Me) engrossed in his book -- The Peloponnesian War, by Donald Kagan. The story so far: the Spartans have the ball on the Athenian's 35 yard line, down by 6, no time outs, and under two minutes left to play. Sparta's veteran quarterback, King Archidamus, unfortunately died after a vicious blind-side hit (no flag on the play!) in the 2nd quarter, and so the Spartan side must depend upon career bench-warmer, King Pleistoanax. Elsewhere, Cleon and Diodotus are locked in a heart-wrenching custody battle over the renegade Mytileneans, with Cleon believing they only really require a stern, disciplinarian father-figure, while Diodatus believes the poor waifs just haven't been properly nurtured, and are perhaps eating too much sugar. In the meantime, the Athenian Pnyx (sort of like the Glee Club, only slightly less gay, and with the power to make law in Athens) has decided that the Mytileneans are just irredeemable, and despite the fact that they might be cute-as-the-dickens, they should still be slaughtered wholesale.
On the other side of Greece, Thucydides writes about Rainbow Ponies and Purple Unicorns in his frilly and fruit-scented diaries, waiting for the days when his thus-far unrequited love for Pericles oif Athens will finally bloom, and bring forth a New Day in the Ancient World, and so he idles away the time writing "Mr. and Mrs. Pericles...Mr. and Mrs. Thucydides-Pericles, Mrs. T. Pericles of Athens...." and thinking he will just D-I-E if Pericles doesn't call soon.
I can't wait to see how it ends. They should make a Lifetime made-for-TV movie out of it. But I digress...
Anyway, there I am, reading quietly, all by myself in my own little corner of the ferryboat, not bothering a soul, perfectly content to imagine that nothing outside those written pages before me exists, when HE shows up.
"He" is something of a puzzler. At first glance, I can't tell if he's a recovering alcoholic (nah, can't be. Not enough stitches in his face), an ex-drug user (no sign of trackmarks, seems to have most of his original teeth), or just an idiot. Then "He" opens his mouth, and the mystery has been solved. Yep, idiot.
Excuse me, Sir. Have you heard the Good News?
Did the Yankees resign Derek Jeter?
*Chuckle* No, nothing like that. I meant have you heard that He Has Risen?
Oh, that. Listen, I don't mean to be rude, but I'm not really interested in discussing religion with you at the moment. Perhaps there's someone further up the boat that needs saving? Good evening.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
There are none so bloody as He who won't take a hint and scram.
I'll pray for you, Sir.
Yeah, you do that, Numbnuts.
And there it should have ended. But it was not to be. For having decided that there was at least ONE soul on this ferry that was in dire need of saving, Mr. Have-You-Heard-The-Good-News decided to set up shop not 10 feet away. The Lecture had begun. He began to pour forth a load of rubbish that was so from left field (even for those in this captive audience Washed in the Blood) that even those who DID want to hear what he had to say were like "What page in the Bible was that on, Dude?".
For you see, we had before us the absolute worst of the Godbots; the ones that combine the contradictory gobbledeegook of the Gospel with the absolutely bulletproof stupidity of conspiracy theory. This was too good to ignore.
Because Jesus was an alien being, you see, and he was sent -- in human form, really he looked like something akin to a squid with an erection, I gather, a feat only made possible by the advanced scientific knowledge possessed by the inhabitants of Andromeda -- on a super-secret mission to Save the World, but he was killed before he could truly warn Mankind of it's imminent, galactic danger, and so the secret has been lost.
Except for people like Mr. Have-You-Heard-Good-News, who have had the entire inside story revealed to them in a series of visions, presumably broadcast from another galaxy and picked up on the fillings in his teeth.
You see, the Romans knew who Jesus REALLY was, and there's Scripture written to prove it. So long as you play with definitions and torture meanings.
This douchebag recited that "Scripture that Proves It", word-for-word, and if you listen carefully, the "clues" in all of these passages are evident when one bumps up against a"deliberate mistranslations" (all part of the conspiracy to obscure the Real Truth, you see) of Scripture from Aramaic-to-Greek-to-Latin-to-Vernacular. Jesus was "set up"; the Romans sent spies to see what he was up to, and then they framed him on a fraudulent tax charge (the whole "Render unto Caesar..." routine). Almost like Al Capone. The systematic re-writing, and re-editing of Scripture through the years is all part of the sinister plot (that's why there was a Martin Luther, you know. He was an alien, too, who was sent to finish what Jesus started, but he was easily lead astray and the Truth was further obscured by the Reformation).
Just who is this "They" involved in this conspiracy, and why they should do what "They" have been accused of doing, is never stated, naturally.
Anywho, the Romans had discovered the True Origin of the Extraterrestrial Savior, performed crude medical experiments upon him (related in the Bible, through "deliberate mistranslation" of course, as "scourging"), and then Crucified him, under the mistaken impression they had rid themselves of someone who was capable of destroying the Roman Empire single-handedly. How they discovered this, and how Jesus was supposed to achieve this destruction is covered by at least five verses from both Old and New Testament that must be"re-interpreted", and the"deliberate mistranslations" expunged, in order to make sense in this context.
So, Jesus is crucified, but three days later is "Resurrected"; another deliberate mistranslation, for it was really an impostor who was Crucified, and Jesus was held in the Roman equivalent of Gitmo, only secret-er, for three days, until he escaped by utilizing his amazing alien scientific knowledge to manipulate and transform matter -- powers mistakenly described as "miracles"; the water-to-wine routine, the really neat loaves-and-fishes trick, and let's not forget the perennial favorite, walking on water, just for example. He's "beamed up" by the"Mother Ship" when his Alien Overlords decide this species is too stupid to be told The Truth, never to return.
It gets worse from there, believe me. The story had so many holes in it that it was in danger of taking on water. Ignoring the pleas of the captive audience to "make some fucking sense, Dickwad!" (we New Yorkers are so polite!), our intrepid Alien Acoylete simply plowed onwards.
So, what, exactly is this "imminent" danger that has threatened to wipe out Mankind (so imminent that 2,000 years later it still hasn't occurred)? Fuck if I know! We never got that far, you see. Mr. Have-You-Heard-The-Good-News was too busy explaining all the nuances of the Conspiracy Theory and ran out of time, so that he never got to this Cosmic Truth that only he and his (presumably dumber and crazier) friends apparently know. The ferry had docked, and it was time to leave.
I walked away, quickly, trying to leave before I had to listen to more of this insanity. Mr. Have-You-Heard-The Good-News was following folks down the passage to the gangway, continuing his nonsense.
That's when Mr. Have-You-Heard-The-Good-News did, indeed, finally get his bloody nose; He got it when he walked face-first into a bulkhead, so busy chasing and haranguing the crowd hat as he turned to follow a knot of folks there was no time to avoid that protruding steel flange. I was almost on the gangway when I heard those immortal words:
Jesus Fucking Christ! I think I broke my fucking nose!
I have never laughed so hard at anything in all my life. I saw him talking to the Police inside the Ferry Terminal a few minutes later. It turns out that this idiot is an aspiring actor who does this kind of shit to both to make a few extra dollars, and to polish his mad acting skillz.
Too bad Alien Jesus couldn't use his powers over time, space and matter to save this douchebag...from a broken nose. That's gonna fuck up his glossy head shots, for sure.

Salon Defends Racist, Leftist Birthers...
By trying to persuade you that people who voted for Hillary Clinton aren't really Leftists. Who should you believe, Salon or your Lying Eyes?
Here's the original article.
Let's just say this; if you supported Hillary Clinton, fought for her nomination, even going to the extent of threatening to implode the democratic party if she didn't get the nod --- then you're a Lefty. Probably one of those fully-committed mentally-suspect Lefties. You might as well wear a pink, neon-lit sign that flashes "LEFTY!", and no amount of obfuscation and denial will ever change that fact. Those who defend the PUMA's by saying that Birtherism is simply a mental disorder of the fringe right, without acknowledging that it was the Clinton supporters who went as far as to connive at it and hire people to propagate it, cannot reconcile this one. No matter how thin they try to slice it; the disease may have found a home in the political right, but it was the Left that were the carriers.
They have all but admitted that they tried to smear the guy; they tried to influence the electoral process by attempting to bring Obama's citizenship into question publicly. Note how they decided to question Obama's qualifications based upon his African Heritage, and not on his actual fitness for office. How do you decide which would have been more overtly racist, I wonder? Perhaps if they had gone the route of legitimately questioning his political accumen their woman might have won -- and we'd be laboring under a different kind of socialism right now. Everyone knows the Press failed in it's responsibility on that count. It might have happened -- completely accidentally --that the PUMAS would have performed a useful public service. Now, it looks simply like pettiness and veiled bigotry, which is basically what Leftist ideology is.
The Mask has dropped for a moment and we glimpse the true ugliness beneath.
If anything, that this issue has arisen probably shows that the Far Left and the Far Right probably have more in common then they think: they were both obviously willing to go to any extent, or believe and spread any lie, if the overall goal was to keep someone out of the White House....at the expense of truth and fairness.
By saying that I'm raising some very uncomfortable questions about whether Lefties are truly concerned with truth, equality and fair play, and if those questions were ever answered openly and honestly, it's my considered opinion that there would be no more Lefties. They would virtually disappear overnight, exposed for the bullshit artists that they are.
I don't like Barack Obama; I think he whines too much, I think he's delusional in his policies and I believe that he doesn't know how the American government is supposed to work. Despite his reputation as a Constitutional Scholar/Lawyer, I have grave misgivings about whether he's actually read that document at all. But, being fair, he's been wronged in this case, and the crime was almost severe enough to cost him his opportunity to fuck up the country. We can survive Obama, we won't survive people like Dan Rather and the PUMA's.
I simply imagine how people would have felt if Dan Rather actually succeeded in smearing GWB in the Fake-Real National Guard Memo-gate. There would have been genuine outrage once the facts of the case and the source of the accusations became known, as there was, especially if Bush had lost .The fact that an election may have been tampered with by a gang of lunatics with an agenda would have angered Americans to no end, and would have gone against their sense of fair play and basic decency. Barack Obama, for all his other deficiencies, deserves -- at the very least -- the same consideration we'd reserve for ourselves in this matter.
You can rest assured that if the perpetrators of this hoax and attempt to steer an election were republicans or conservatives, the Justice Department and five gazillion pundits would be all over it.
If you think this is a defense of Obama, it ain't. It's simply a recognition that someone tried to cheat in a most despicable manner, and that even a dyed-in-the-wool Alinsky Communist deserves the courtesy of fairness.
It was a nice try, though, Mr. Koppelman.

Draining The Swamp...
Just a quick list of democratic "lawmakers" and officials who have wound up on the wrong side of an ethics investigation, or who have some dubious qualifications for office, who best represent the graft that Nancy Pelosi said she would clean up. In no particular order, I give you the Most Ethical and Transparent Government EVAH:
Secretary of the Treasury, Tim Geithner - Tax cheat who didn't even pay his taxes when his employer gave him the money and instructions to do so! Crony capitalist who orchestrated the TARP fiasco, who is now accused of helping AIG hide losses from government regulators. Geithner is at the heart of all things Wall Street bailout-related because of his former job as chief of the NY Fed, but it also seems that Geithner has been in bed with many of the major players at AIG, Citi, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs, amongst others. He won't come clean, and he won't resign, and the taxpayer is on the hook for $750 billion that went to his cronies. By the way; Geithner was allowed to pay his unpaid taxes without fines or penalty. Why don't you try to get that sort of deal from the IRS?
Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis - another tax cheat. Solis "forgot" to pay taxes...four times. Even when the IRS "reminded" her to pay them. Four times. Solis was also "permitted" to pay the back taxes she owed (four times) without a fine or penalty, and nary a word said in public. Once again, I invite you to try the IRS on that sort of thing and see if they don't fine you within an inch of your life.
Attorney General, Eric Holder - the man who accused America of cowardice for it's inability to deal with the subject of race (hey, the Klan knew how to deal with the subject of race. Would you prefer we went back to those days, Mr. AG? I think we're doing rather better than that, no thanks to people like you), wants to give terrorists the same rights as any other criminal defendant in our civilian courts. Recently, questions have been raised about his motivations, as it appears the AG may have a conflict of interest in this sort of thing; a law firm he worked for before becoming the AG has defended several terrorists in U.S. civilian and military trials already, garnering a lot of government cash in the process, probably. Mr. Holder himself is yet to be accused of anything, hell, when he appears in front of Congress he apears to not know anything -- at all -- but he may want to rethink that whole "try the Undibombers in the Public Square" thing.
Rep. Barney Frank (Homo - Massachusetts) - Co-Orchestrator of the looming Fannie/Freddie collapse, proponent of the massive 'Stimulus' boondoggle that will cost more than expected and do less than advertised. Barney Fwank was diddling one of Fannie or Freddie's (I forget which) chief executives, who was possibly using his romantic influence with the Representative to keep regulators and reformers away from his agency. Barney stood in the path of reform no fewer than seven times. He never reported his conflict of interest, i.e. fucking one of the executives of an agency he was supposed to be regulating. Barney is also a classic example of why some people in this country continue to call for the stoning of gays in the public square; he is one of the most insufferable human beings alive (Michelle Obama is a distant second). There has been no ethic investigation of Barney's behavior whatsoever.
Sen. Chris Dodd (Dipshit - Connecticut) - Another of the Wall Street defenders, Dodd also had as many fingers (figuratively-speaking) in Fannie (not someones actual Fannie, we mean Fannie Mae, the mortgage thingy. Dodd, so far as we know, isn't quite as gay as Barney Frank). He's up to his neck in mortgage scandal money, having received two "sweetheart" mortgage deals from Angelo Mozillo, former CEO fo Nationwide, which is now defunct. Dodd's fingerprints are all over the AIG mess, and he slipped a provision into a bill int he middle of the night to allow AIG to pay huge bonuses to dipshit executives with Taxpayer money. Dodd's only saving grace was that he's finally resigned, given the reality inevitable loss in the mid-terms. The ethics investigation done on Dodd was a model of speed, efficiency and whitewash, which went by so fast and touched him so lightly that it just might as well have never happened. He can now retire to that Irish "cottage" of his, and hopefully, he will never contaminate these shores again. Oh, and Senator? We're still waiting for the documents!
Sen. Mary Landrieu (Thief - Louisiana) - The recipient of the Famous "Louisiana Purchase", and we don't mean the land deal that Jefferson swung on the French and which led to the exploits of Lewis and Clark. No, we're talking the $300 million dollars Harry Reid promised Mary for her "yea" vote on Healthcare. The stink of this one is that it wasn't even hidden; it happened in broad daylight, on the senate floor, and was being reported on by the cable networks before the proposition was even complete. To date, Landrieu hasn't even expressed a shred of remorse or shame over her actions, and says even less than the statue of Lincoln at the memorial.
Sen. Ben Nelson (Dickhead - Nebraska) - Recipient of another infamous bribe, the "Cornhusker Kickback", in which his state of Nebraska would essentially get Medicare for all eternity at the expense of the other 49 states. Fortunately for us, the people of Nebraska have some sense of propriety and fair-play, and howled so loudly that Nelson began to backtrack even before the ink was dry on that Harry Reid promise (bribe). Now Nelson is in danger of being voted out of office, and plenty panicked about his future. I would suggest he start acquiring a taste for orange jumpsuits, since accepting a bribe for a vote is supposed to be a crime in this country. Unfortunately, he'll wriggle free of this one.
Rep. Charlie Rangel (Hemmorhoid - New York) - the Man who runs the Ways and Means Committee in the House, which writes the very tax laws you struggle with every year, apparently doesn't know, or even bother to follow them, himself. He even said as much, claiming the tax code (which he helped construct) is so complex that even he doesn't know what's in it. When Charlie isn't hiding scads of income like $75,000 in rent from his overseas hideaway, four rent-controlled apartments, illegal deductions for using those apartments for campaign purposes, and accepting all sorts of illegal donations in return for his help in getting some asshole's name on a university building or something, he's busy spending your money faster than the government can collect it, and then even faster than it can borrow it from China. Oh, btw, Charlie was allowed to pay his back taxes without interest or penalty attached. It seems the IRS is in a forgiving mood these days, perhaps I shall give them a miss this year?
Rep. John Murtha (Windbag - Pennsylvania) - Murtha has been up to his ass in scandal since ABSCAM in the mid-70's. He's been up to his neck in shady defense-contractor dealings practically forever, and he's been the recipient of more campaign contributions from defense contractors than any other member of Congress. Yet, this is the man who has denigrated US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq since the beginning of those wars, even going as far as to compare them to the Nazis. He should be shot just for treason just on that basis alone, but instead, the idiots in Pennsylvania (the so-called Bitter Clingers) sent this liberal piece of shit thief back Congress. There has still been no investigation of Murtha's alleged crimes, but Pelosi bent over backwards and practically blew every member of the Ethics Committee in order to nail Randall "Duke" Cunningham on his shady shenanigans with defense contractors. The pot calls the kettle black, methinks.
I know I'm forgetting more of the democratic rogues gallery, like Dorgan, Ackerman, Jefferson, the SEIU, ACORN amongst others. But you get the point.
The rallying cry of the last mid-term election cycle for democrats was the "culture of corruption" that surrounded republicans, with their associations with Jack Abramoff, the Cunningham scnadal, and the "indiscretions" of Senator Craig and Congressmen Foley (both of which involved allegations of inappropriate gay sex, which apparently no one can be bothered to act shocked at when Barney Frank is involved), whom they also used to tar "family-oriented" republicans with the label "hypocrite". Nancy Pelosi, upon her coronation which had all the splendor of Elvis Vegas show but none of the charm, claimed she would "drain the swamp" of Washington, and then Barack Obama came along and cried "transparency on C-Span" (a trick which Bill Clinton once used, too). Somewhere between "Drain the Swamp" and "Hope n' stuff", they've lost their way.
That's if they ever meant any of it in the first place.
Update: I must not have had enough coffee at the time, but I almost forgot: the democratic Secretary of State of Taxachsetts is threatening to delay the certification of Scott Brown, a republican running in a special election for the Senate Seat formerly occupied by the enormous-drunken-alleged-rapist-alleged-manslaughtering-cancer-couldn't-have-happened-to-a-nicer-guy Ted Kennedy, should he win, just so that the dems could keep their 60-vote majority to pass "Healthcare Reform Legislation". This, incidentally, was announced PUBLICLY. They don't even bother to hide conspiracy anymore.
Global Warming: The Academic Conspiracy...
Unless you've been living under a rock, you have probably heard a thing or two about the "Climategate scandal". I won't link to any articles, since they're all over the place, and many of them are confusing for the layman or uninitiated in the the double-crapspeak of the Global Warming Crowd, but the basic gist is this:
It appears as if a bunch of Climatologists at the University of East Anglia (in Britain) conspired to do one or more of the following:
1. Falsifying/and or deleting temperature data that did not fit their pre-conceived notions or political views, so as to show a steady increase in Global Temperatures when such temperatures were, in fact, either flat lining or falling, indicating a decade of actual global cooling. They have also failed to explain how they prepared or 'modeled' the data for use in their computer models, leading to a suspicion that either the data was tailored to fit the program, or the program tailored to fit the data
2. Deleting data that was the focus of a Freedom of Information Act request, so that it could not be seen or tested by those who requested it, and to hide the fact that the data was incorrect and/or fabricated. According to the scientists in the middle of this mess, that data is easily reproducible, but they refuse to reproduce it because it's too much work to do so.
3. Using their scientific clout in their field to silence dissenters who dared to disagree with them, corrupting the peer-review process which by allowing anyone to test a scientific theory or repeat an experiment to verify results, is vital to the advance of science. Destroying the careers of, or taking actions to publicly embarrass those, who might disagree with you (or worse, prove you are a fraud) is at the very least, bad form, in the context of what these scientists were entrusted with, it's probably criminal.
What, exactly, were they entrusted with?
Why, proving that Man-Made Global Warming exists, that's it a continuing trend, and that it has dire consequences for the entire planet. Oh, and they were the main laboratory providing European Governments, the U.N., the United States Government and a host of alphabet-soup organizations with the information they "needed" to regulate global economies and CO2 (Carbon dioxide) production.
In other words, these are the guys who were going to create the justification for World Government. In fact, one of the Euroweenies who is supposed to be a high muck-a-muck in what passes for government over there, recently bragged that this week's Copenhagen meetings on Global Warming, are the first step in crafting a single world-wide government.
That the data upon which this presumption was based now turns out to be (allegedly) false, I should think they shouldn't be having that meeting. But no, the Global Warming Crowd wouldn't let anything like a massive fraud which undermines the entire foundation of their cause stop them from 'saving the planet' by destroying Western Economies, taxing everything in sight, and having the pretext to push their noses into every aspect of every citizen's life. Of course not!
True believers never give up the ship, even when they've been proven wrong. It's a defect built into liberals, especially (see: Kennedy Assassination, 9/11 Truthers, The CIA brought Crack to the Ghetto, and so forth). Most liberals don't have the same sense God gave a cross-eyed Cocker Spaniel.
There's legislation in the U.S. Senate right now that will pass a Cap-and-Trade regime, which will severely restrict the use of energy for every conceivable purpose, and impose huge fees and taxes upon American business and citizens in the name of 'saving the planet'. Considering that the whole idea of man-made Global Warming is now, at least, severely put into question by the shenanigans of a bunch of politically-motivated professors who's basic experiments cannot be reproduced and verified, perhaps we Americans had better call our dopey Senators and tell them to kill this bill. Like right now.
And then it's time to start this whole "Man is wrecking the planet" stuff again from square one, and to do it right; with transparency, verifiable data, and scientific integrity. If the Warmers are right, then fine, but if they can't prove their hysteria, then they should leave the rest of us alone.
Update: Al Gore is now cancelling personal appearances, beginning with, oddly enough, the Copenhagen Conference.
Pajamas Media has a go at Gore's suddenly-low public profile, and the man himself.

Conspiracy Theory is Simply History for Stupid People...
Re: All the recent hub-bub about Barack Obama's birth certificate: Stop already. You're giving some of us (republicans) headaches, and making the rest of us (republicans) look dumb, playing right into the hands of a certain section of the political left which actually believes we (republicans) are a bunch of Bible-thumping yahoos incapable of rational thought -- talk about pots calling kettles black? These are the people (leftists) who demand lock-step group-think, not us. We're better than that.
All conspiracy theories eventually bump up against the brick wall of reality. The more persistent manage to soldier on, and those who have an interest in advancing them will continue to smash their craniums against this metaphorical wall until they emerge battered and bloody and looking foolish, but they will remain unencumbered by shame. They will continue with their stupidity in the same way that an alcoholic will continue to drink long after he's destroyed his life; they simply can't help themselves. The smart people stop, step back, evaluate the situation, and then make rational decisions to stop drinking, or in this case, to stop espousing nonsense in place of valid argument.
Those who don't, or won't, stop such self-destructive behavior usually wind up killing themselves, literally in the sense of an alcoholic, or, in this case, figuratively, as a political movement. In both cases, the ones who get hurt the most are usually those who happen to simply be in the splash zone of the stupidity.
The simple fact is that conspiracy theories are usually provably false. Provided one can be objective, this premise doesn't even need a defense or demonstration.
The fact we're dealing with here, is that if Barack Obama is indeed some form of Manchurian Candidate, created so as to bring Socialism to American shores, it's a pretty incredible conspiracy; whoever set it in motion would have to a) select someone who hadn't even been born yet to be the point man (straw man) for the plot, b) purposely and secretly direct the man's life in such a way so as to put him in a position to see the plan through, c) be so incredibly prescient so as to correctly divine the political and social currents of American life, and then be able to use his selected tool at precisely the proper moment in history to have seen the plan to it's fruition.
So far as I know, the only being capable of doing that, even by the admission of most of the Birthers, is God. Therefor, one could make an argument that if there was a conspiracy, then the Almighty is the one who executed The Plan; otherwise, control of all the circumstances which brought President Hopenchanger to power are beyond the control of mere mortals, no matter how smart or insidious.
In any case, Barack Obama will be gone in a little over three years, barring some tremendous and as yet unseen events (which the Birthers will conveniently bundle into their Conspiracy Theory) and so it would seem to me that the best course of action is simply this:
Expend your energies into ensuring that something remains of American culture, and that freedoms survive the Obama Experiment after he's gone, Why waste your time and effort trying to prove something true that is so obviously false? If your excuse is that the very fact that there is some question (there really isn't) as to his citizenship in and of itself constitutes an Obama 'weakness', and that it should be pursued for it's own sake, then your own thought processes and motives are called into question. Particularly when you treat the people on your own side who disagree with you as if they were the enemy, too.
Update: Andrew McCarthy at National Review makes a compelling (and reasonable) case as to why this matters. Note, however, that it was already known that Obama was a liar to anyone capable of breathing without mechanical assistance, and we didn't need Andrew McCarthy to delve as deeply into the bullshit as he did to confirm it. Still, it's a fairly decent read.
