Woman spends $250,000 on a dog wedding.
And when I say "One Percent" I mean the One Percent that has more money than brains and threw it at Obama in the same way that women used to throw their underwear at Tom Jones.

The Great Hopenchanger is a Douche..
And the rest of the planet is beginning to realize it.
I only wish there was a journalist who had the courage to say the same things in this country! It is, after all, what most of us here think, anyways.
(H/T: Closet Conservative, and Five Feet of Fury).

This Just In: Obama Vows to Fuck Up Africa, Too...
Yep. This should work.
Having found himself unable to cope with the problems of this Continent (high unemployment, rampant illegal immigration, home-grown jihadis, unsustainable public debt, moribund economy, all-devouring Federal Bureaucracy), President Marriot-Suites has decided to turn his mighty teleprompter skills upon the problems of Africa.
Because he's had such stunning success here, you know, why not take the show on the road?
I'm certain that bribing an Ivory Coast despot with the promise of a higher international role is a sure-fire bell-ringer. Why, if only someone had offered Hitler a higher international profile on the cocktail circuit of the swankier European capitals, things might have worked out quite differently.
What absolute blather this is:
Rhodes said the White House understands that U.S. involvement in African politics can be viewed as meddling. But he said Obama can speak to African leaders with a unique level of candor, reflecting his personal connection to Africa and that his father and other family members have been affected by the corruption that plagues many countries there.
First off, Obama himself has little "connection" to Africa, apart from being (half-) black. This is a man who was raised in Hawaii and Indonesia, and educated (so they say) at Harvard. The assertion that he has a "connection" to Africa is complete bullshit; no one has any connection to any place or culture that one wasn't actually born and/or raised in. An Englishman who vacationed in India is no more Indian than his pet goldfish. Obama is no more Kenyan for having lived in Honolulu and Chicago, and being raised by his white grandparents, then Bo the Water Spaniel is.
By all accounts, and I'm parsing the sources here, Obama's "African connection" seems to have consisted of short visits with an absentee father who could give a shit, because he was too busy playing at revolutionary and Pan-African Nationalist. Because the middle-class white chicks just dug that crap back in the 60's, you know.
And besides, Mr. President, isn't there enough for you to do here? I know, I know: doing isn't really your thing, but do you think that at some point you could at least make an effort to appear to be paying attention to your own citizens? A few minutes between vacations and press-conferences-where-nothing-actually-gets-said, at the least?
Playing to Africa is a desperate gambit by a desperate man who knows that his re-election is a lost cause. It tells me that Obama cannot look all Presidential and leadery-like over here, and so he has "raise his profile" by taking on "Big Stage" issues Overseas -- where no one can vote for him. It's the old "Great Man of History" routine, and every democratic president in trouble trots out this well-worn script; if you can't convince your own citizens of your greatness, then try to sell it to The World, so that you can always hammer your detractors over the head with "He may not be popular in Boise, but they love him in Soweto. You must be missing something" routine.
Eventually, most democratic presidencies of the last 50 years are reduced to the Grand Gesture, complete with all the pomp and trappings of grandeur; the Summit Meetings, The U.N. Speeches, The Great Diplomatic Potemkin-Cluster-Fuck in Geneva. Ultimately, it means nothing, but it looks good on the Evening News and in the History Books.
Obama and his Magic Teleprompter, and his super-human Turd-Polishing abilities, are not going to solve the cultural issues of tribal animosity, religious bigotry, corrupt politics, industrial underdevelopment, lack of a democratic mindset and widespread ignorance of a Continent that shits in it's own drinking water, and then does little more than breed and fight.
The point isn't to actually achieve anything, but to create the perception of accomplishment for strictly domestic audiences.
Or maybe it's just an excuse to drag Air Farce One out of the hangar again for some more R-and-R on the taxpayer dime?
I wonder how many golf courses they have in Zimbabwe?

"Like a Dog..."
It must really suck to be Barack Obama. I mean, how dare anyone demand results, and then offer criticism when there aren't any?
Your weekly dose of Professor Hanson.
Money quote:
Your weekly dose of Professor Hanson.
Money quote:
Yet Obama’s petulance, I think, more likely derives from a certain surprise — leading to anger — that originates from novel and sudden demands for accountability. Quite simply, no one has dared question Obama before — much less press him for deeds to match his mellifluous words.
Did he really think he could talk his way through four years of the American presidency?

OMG! Did I Do This???
Yesterday, I posted a screed about Michael Allegretti, a candidate for Congress here in New York City. I mentioned that Mr. Allegretti's commercial makes no mention of his party affiliation, and that even when asked directly, he categorized himself as "an independent, fiscal conservative" while dodging the question "Republican or Democrat?" entirely.
I don't consider the term "fiscal conservative" to be indicative of party affiliation, nor of Conservatism (of the Sean Hannity/Rush Limbaugh sort) at all. It is possible to be a fiscal conservative and still be a social liberal (see: Rudy Giuliani, Olympia Snowe, et. al.), although I guess what that formulation means is that you're a cheapskate with the public purse and favor lower taxes, but not necessarily decisive on the issues of Government bloat, Gay Rights, Affirmative action, and no friend of Gun Rights.
In God-Guns-And-Gay Conservative circles, this makes you a RINO (Republican in Name Only), if not Satan himself. Not that I particularly care about what those folks have to say; they often seem more concerned with the NEXT world, rather than this one, which makes them suspect in my mind -- even if I do agree with them on (most) core social values.
It was my assertion that by not making his affiliation clear, Mr. Allegretti was perhaps hiding something, or perhaps leaving the impression that he might have something to hide.
What a difference a day makes!
Mr. Allegretti's campaign commercial just aired not ten minutes ago. And guess what? The caption at the bottom of the screen now reads: "Michael Allegretti, REPUBLICAN for Congress".
His website, still makes no mention of his Republicanism, at least not on the homepage, where one might reasonably expect to find that sort of information.
Did I do this? Probably not; I'm of the mind that no one listens to me, anyway, so I figure maybe someone with far more influence also asked the question. Does this make any difference? Again, probably not, but it would seem to me that dishonesty (even of the unintentional omission sort) does have consequences. Especially in elections. See: Change You Can Believe In.
If Mr. Allegretti is a Republican, then he should come out and say so more often, and then take steps beyond just downgrading the democrats; show that you embrace the Republican platform, and not just the fiscal conservatism plank which is now the hip marketing meme for Right-of-Center stealth candidates in these days of Tea Parties and conservative backlash, and embrace your inner-R, Sir.
Just on the off-chance that I did, indeed, give you a gentle nudge, I shall be watching ever-more carefully, Sir.

Louis Farrakhan is an Idiot...
Yeah, I know: like that's a news flash...
The "Minister" had some very choice words over the weekend at one of those gatherings where the mental patients who make up the Nation of Islam get all dressed up like they're in a Broadway Musical and stew in their racism for a day or two.
You can read about it here.
What the article doesn't mention, because the New York Daily News is run by a bunch of libtards, is that the "Minister" managed to say that (paraphrasing) Whitey is out to Assassinate Barack Obama, and the White Right is determined to make sure Barry is a One-Term President, and naturally, we're determined to do this because we're racists.
Well, the "Minister" is an expert on racism, with just one exception; he can recognize it in everyone but himself.
I don't like Barack Obama, I'll admit. I never did, but I've tried to be fair...and it's really not working for me. Mostly because he's a liar, has already been shown to have been thoroughly unqualified for the job, and he never accepts responsibility for anything...except other people's successes. He's obviously surrounded himself with opportunistic sycophants, who when they aren't telling him how great he is and how he gives Great Speech, are busy running the government in his stead.
King Barack I would rather ride Air Force One to accept Peace Prizes he didn't earn, beg a bunch of Eurotwerps for an Olympic Games for his Chicago Cronies, and make sure Michelle and he can have a Date Night anywhere in the freakin' country at any hour of the day, at taxpayer expense. Barack Obama has spent even less time, I reckon, in the White House actually working than George W. Bush did.
And on some level, I think we might actually be fortunate he's been so reluctant to work. I shudder to think what he might manage to destroy if he was actually trying.
I don't want Obama dead, I just want him gone. If I have to wait until Jan 20, 2013, then that's fine. We've survived LBJ, Carter and Clinton, and we'll survive Barack I. I just hope that in the meantime we can replace as much of the rest of the government as we possibly can by that time through the electoral process so that the damage that Obama manages can be contained.
The reason I don't support Barack Obama has noting to do with him being black (the Minister has conveniently forgotten that Obama is only HALF-black. The rest of him is White. A decade ago, Louis Farrakhan would have said that Barry wasn't "authentically black", but I guess an electoral victory changes everything, huh?). My distaste for Barack Obama has to do with his policies.
When he says "We are the change we've been waiting for..." he's really alluding to a carefully-disguised program of Reparations for black folks.
When he says "Yes We Can!" he really means that he can find ways to throw cash at African Americans in the form of Cash-for-Clunkers, Mortgage Renegotiation schemes that are designed to give houses to people who could never have afforded them in the first place. "Health Care Reform" is designed to give even MORE free health care to people who already get it at someone else's expense. Do you really suppose the single mother who takes her seven children by eight fathers into the Emergency Room for the sniffles pays anything for that visit -- ever -- do you? You don't think the chronically-unemployed 350-pound man who lives on a diet of fatback-ripple -and-two-packs-of-Kools a day who shows up in the cardiac ward twice a year for another double-bypass ever pays for his time in the hospital? You don't imagine that the welfare-and-food-stamp crackhead who finds himself shot on a street corner because the brothers who did the drive-by can't aim straight, and missed the guy sitting 50-yards to his right, ever pays for the massive trauma treatment and surgical bills he's incurred, do you?
When Barack Obama says "Hope and Change..." he means "we hope White folks are either stupid enough, or we can manipulate the irrational guilt of White Liberals enough, to not realize they will be taxed to death in order to "hook a brother up"... and the Change is what'll be left in Whitey's pocket after it's been picked.
When Barack Obama talks about "putting America to work" he truly means make-work government union jobs, which will be given to African Americans disproportionately, so that even the dumbest, laziest bastard in America can earn $60 an hour and not have any result at all expected in return.
That's why I dislike Barack Obama, "Minister". But I certainly don't want him dead. We already have a holiday for a dead black man (who actually deserved the honor), and an entire month in which I have to be assaulted (once again) with the story of how George Washington Carver invented peanut butter and Whitey got rich on it. Get some new propaganda already, will ya?
But this is what the "Minister" does; he spouts complete bullshit knowing that no one is going to call him on it, and that even if they do, the acute psychosis and pathological distrust which affects a certain segment of Black America is so deep that no measure of common sense or logic will ever penetrate it. They believe that racism is so endemic that there's not a single conspiracy theory, any lie, any misrepresentation that they won't swallow whole and take with them to the grave. It's why he can stand up there and tell the tale of having been taken aboard an alien spacecraft and still have people take him seriously, if not regard him as their savior.
It's apparent the aliens didn't anal probe him, as is their wont, because the "Minister" is still full of shit.
Barack Obama will, indeed, be a "one term President", but his race will have nothing to do with it. It will be because he was man totally unprepared for the job, and possessed of the most outrageous, and unconstitutional, theories of how government should work. He'll fail because there isn't a promise he's ever made that he has ever kept; transparency on C-Span, no tax increases for 250k and under, cutting the deficit, tax cut for 95% of Americans, keeping unemployment low as justification for a Stimulus monstrosity, you can keep your own physician, so on and so forth. The economic future of this country looks exceedingly bleak, and the President is spending money that doesn't even exist faster than anyone can even imagine it, let alone print it. This country is rapidly headed for the Zimbabwe Zone. When Barack Obama finally leaves office, it will not be because of some vast "White"-wing conspiracy -- it'll be because he was a rotten President. So bad, in fact, that he almost makes me nostalgic for Jimmy Carter.
What the Black Comm-uuun-itaaay (as Rev. Al calls it) should be worried about, "Minister", is that Barack Obama turns out to be such a rotten President that we never see another Black Person take that Oath of Office ever again -- and not because of race -- but because of the belief that Obama represents the mindset of the average black person. That mindset fairly screams "I'm entitled" without ever mentioning a damned thing about responsibility.
Black are not responsible for high crime rates and prison recidivism, because that's a legacy of slavery. Blacks are not responsible for illiteracy and the destruction of the Public School Systems in their communities because that's a legacy of slavery. Blacks are not responsible for out-of-control rates of bastardy because that's a legacy of slavery. Blacks are not responsible for having a work ethic, because that's a legacy of slavery, therefore, Whitey owes them all a free house, a free car, free health insurance, and a high-paying job where nothing is expected of them, and they shouldn't have to work or pay for any of it --because that's a legacy of slavery, too.
He stands as an example of what is possible in America if people apply their talents and intelligence, and then defeats that positive message by infantilizing his own people. Obama sends out the signal that Blacks don't have to, nor should they, put their talents to work for their own improvement. They should be mindless wards of the State, and someone else should pay for it. And what really rankles, what really chaps our asses, is that we who will write the checks for it all don't get ever the full poop on what he proposes, or even the chance to speak our peace on it. It's just shoved up our asses, sideways, and we're expected to just shut up about it.
That's why Barack Obama will fail, "Minister". That's why we want him gone. That's why he'll be a one-term President.
Maybe the next time you see those aliens, you could ask them to take you with them when they leave?

Does This Mean It Isn't Bush's Fault Anymore?
The London Times has finally pinned down the overriding problem with the Obama Administration, which it believes explains it's heretofore stunning lack of success and progress;
It's The Chicago Mafia. Why, they're such a drag on Obama, they've even taken the fun out of the Washington Cocktail and Canape Circuit! Somehow, this little bit of nonsense got past the editor:
"What no one disputes is that Obama is extremely clever..." So clever that he's apparently surrounded himself with people who prevent him from achieving his goals? How clever is that? But, just in case you don't happen to buy that load of fertilizer, the Times has another theory to sell to you;
"The biggest hurdle may be Obama’s own ambition combined with lack of experience. A leading Democratic supporter described his administration as "unfocused", adding that he had counted 137 items on Obama’s agenda.
"He needs to realise that he’s running a huge operation and has to sequence priorities," said Clemons. "He’s not thinking like the chief executive of a complex organisation.""
You mean the Community Organizer is simply disorganized? You mean Chris Matthew's Vibrating Inner Thigh was wrong about this guy? Does this mean, in retrospect, that Sarah Palin actually did have more experience than Barack Obama?
Apparently, the people at the Times are not watching the same guy that I am. Far from being clever or disorganized, Barack Obama is simply incompetent. Take away his teleprompter, the carefully-staged events, the cheerleading Press, the over-the-top adulation of aging hippies and the easy-to-incite recipient classes, and what you have is a third-rate racial hustler with an Affirmative-Action law degree who doesn't have the sense to pour piss out of a boot...with instructions printed on the heel.
He was just smart enough to scam his way into the White House, or rather, to take advantage of American impatience with the status quo. More likely, the thing just fell into his lap. I think on some level, The Anointed One ever expected to actually win, and so had no real plan to go with the lofty rhetorical stuff. It didn't take long for us to see the real Obama; the committed Socialist, the irresponsible, the hypocritical, the finger-pointer, the indecisive, the Frequent Vacationer, the Man Who Believed His Own Press Too Much. In short, Obama couldn't lead a three year old to the crapper. The attempt to revive Camelot by the Press notwithstanding, Obama has always cast a very thin shadow, it's only when he's been given an opportunity by a very desperate electorate that we find out just how gossamer-thin it always was. The tragedy of Barack Obama will always be that the need to believe drove many to the point of suspending disbelief altogether. Chris Matthew's Tingly Inseam turned out to be a most-untrustworthy gauge of steely, responsible leadership, after all.
Who knew?
If we had an objective and reasonable Press in this country, they'd all be hanging their heads in shame and contemplating suicide today. They had the job of vetting of this guy, and they failed miserably. Mostly because they've been blinded by their own ideology and elitism...and they want to be. Then, after the damage is well-and-truly done, they sit around and try to figure out how things got so god-awfully shitty, and they start spitballing, and they come up with all sorts of excuses except the only one that makes sense: Barack Obama isn't qualified for this job.
There are a number of theories (really excuses) floating around the Internet and the media this week that try to explain how this unheard of phenomenon came about (Incompetent Boob beloved of the Press and Left screws up), and as they get tossed about there are some who eagerly snatch at this opportunity to apply some common sense, in retrospect.
On the Healthcare fisaco:
"Of course, the biggest disconnect is between the Obama administration and the American people. Americans have made it abundantly clear that they don’t want Obamacare. President Obama has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t care."
The Ever-Popular Jimmy Carter Defense. And finally,
The "Good Help is Hard to Find" Defense.
This President, however, has finally run out of other people to blame, and excuses to make. It's about time to admit that he was hardly prepared to take this job, and that the added burden of accepting leadership of a country in deep economic crisis and simultaneous wars was beyond the ability of someone who's greatest attribute was that He Gave Great Speech. It's time now to listen to the American People, to ask the Adults for help, and to make sure that call for "Bi-partisanship" is genuine.
I rather doubt it will be.
It's The Chicago Mafia. Why, they're such a drag on Obama, they've even taken the fun out of the Washington Cocktail and Canape Circuit! Somehow, this little bit of nonsense got past the editor:
"What no one disputes is that Obama is extremely clever..." So clever that he's apparently surrounded himself with people who prevent him from achieving his goals? How clever is that? But, just in case you don't happen to buy that load of fertilizer, the Times has another theory to sell to you;
"The biggest hurdle may be Obama’s own ambition combined with lack of experience.
The Winter of Our Discontent...
The mind reels at the state of the American Republic today. What was once a free, productive and positive country has now become a polarized, antagonistic, angry, depressed nation on it's way to government-enforced regimentation and servitude. The mantras of 2008 were "Yes We Can", the "Audacity of Hope!" and "Change You Can Believe In", which now ring hollow in ears that are daily boxed by the Commander in Grief, the new-and-improved, and much better-dressed, version of Big Brother who monopolizes our televisions with his virtuoso Tap Dance of Flaming Bullshit. Those once-inspiring mantras, once carefully-selected to appeal to the greater mass of desperate retards in the Recipient Classes, have been replaced by the newer, tinnier refrains of "It's Bush's Fault", "Change Doesn't Happen Overnight", and "Two Million Jobs Saved or Created", and the opening steps of President Obama's new dance; the Waltz Into Historical Failure.
The way things are going, he'll be lucky if he can manage to move his limbs at all, soon.
The oft-repeated lies "No tax increases for those making under $250,000 a year", "Not One Dime", "I will Close Guantanamo", "It'll be on C-Span", "Keep unemployment under 9%", are repeated several hundred times a day by democratic (small 'd' intentional) operatives and members of Congress who's personal rice bowls -- and what's left of their reputations -- are tied up in the fantasy that Barack Obama is a leader. "Leader" is not a word I would use to describe a man who you know doesn't even walk his own carefully-selected-for-the-photo-op dog.
The Truth of Barack Obama is this: we asked for it (not me personally, because I didn't vote for the guy). The man had a resume hat was thinner than that of your local Taco Bell night shift supervisor -- that should have been the first clue. Voting "Present" a bazillion times was an indication of either abject spinelessness, an incredible cluelessness, or someone who really didn't have an opinion or a conviction worth stating or defending. More likely, it was the hallmark of a calculating politician. The attachment to obviously politically-expedient or useful morons who called America a 'racist nation', or who assume that all White people wear sheets and burn crosses, or who planted bombs and called it legitimate political discourse, was another red flag.
The Truth of what his "Hope and Change" has brought us is this: we're deeper in debt than ever. The Federal Government is spending money faster than it can print it. The World's premier economy is collapsing for want of proven, common sense solutions under the weight of government spending, bailouts, cash giveaways to politically-connected unions and politically-favored classes, while the man berates the productive for their "selfishness" as he plans to rob them blind.
The country is embroiled in two wars, and while this is not Barack Obama's fault (one of the few things that isn't his responsibility), he's obviously decided to fight both half-heartedly. While you can give him credit for committing more troops to the Afghan campaign, he only did so after dithering over the question for months -- just long enough for people to mostly forget that he opposed a similar surge strategy in Iraq (which has worked, incidentally). While he orders Predator drone strikes (because God forbid we offend the Pakistanis who created the Taliban and protect the worst of the lot, and actually go after terrorists wherever we find them), he sends out an "Envoy to the Muslim World" and sends taped holiday greetings to the Religion of Death, even speaking Arabic and Farsi just so he can polish his ultimately-worthless multi-culti-citizen-of-the-world rep.
Democrats think that kind of thing is cool. Then again, Democrats still think JFK was a good President and that Bill Clinton was hounded by a Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy and not the victim of his own foolishness and narcissism.
In the meantime, the Islamonazis plant explosives in the their underwear, open new fronts from which to fight, build nuclear weapons and are granted constitutional rights and free lawyers. Israel is dissuaded from acting in it's own self-interest because the ridiculous idea that diplomacy will solve the majority of the terrorist problem must be pursued before our Commander of Sheep sees his popularity polls dip... in Germany. Right now, Marines are fighting in Afghanistan in the dead of winter to wipe the Taliban and Al'Qaeda scum out, and our President appoints a terrorist sympathizer to talk to the Muslim world even more. "Jaw-Jaw is better than War-War", said Winston Churchill, but even Churchill recognized that one must fight, and fight to win, when confronted with enemies with whom there can be no accommodation.
Still, the Most Eloquent Man to Ever Read a Speech Written By Someone Else and Fed Into a Teleprompter beats his own drum relentlessly. He takes credit for accomplishments that arent even his own , like the success of the surge in Iraq. You remember; the one that he voted against and criticized. He invents numbers like "2,000,000 jobs saved" knowing that it can never be disproven under an accounting scheme that would have gotten someone at Morgan Stanley or Citibank a jail sentence. He never takes credit for failure...no, no, no...That's George Bush's or 'The Republicans" fault. Even the ones that can be laid directly at his feet. He never listens to the criticism of his opponents with anything other than a readiness to take personal offense, even when they're not calling him a "Socialist" or worse. He believes he knows all, and does not need to listen, and when he does feign to do so, it's merely polticial posturing or in response to a negative poll number. All that's needed for Obama's Fatherland with Smiley Faces to succeed is for the American Sheeple to simply comply, quietly. Just Surrender to His Magnificence and all things will fall into place.
Those ideas worked so well in Russia and China that both abandoned Socialist for two-fisted Capitalism, red in tooth and claw.
The Man Who Claimed He Was President for All Americans seems more concerned with those who aren't Americans; Illegal Aliens must be given medical care at someone else's expense. And Amnesty so that they can vote. Policies that are little more than handing out cash on street corners are targeted at those who are loyal supporters or members of "oppressed" minority groups, whether it is Cash-for-Clunkers, Mortgage Renegotiation Schemes, Unions exempted from taxes the rest of us have to pay, or buying votes in broad daylight; The Bribery on the Bayeux, The Cornhusker Kickback.
But this should have been expected. The man comes from a political tradition convinced that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high, and still calls itself intelligent and principled. That tradition believes that guns, inanimate objects incapable of independent action, kill people. The same tradition that holds that all of America's Ills can be cured with the same formula; Soak the Rich, Screw The Middle Class, Create a Permanent-Legally-Protected Underclass, play the Class Warfare and Race cards as often as possible, and apply the concept of personal choice" so narrowly that it should only apply to the killing of unborn (or nearly-born) infants, but never to people deciding what is in their OWN bestinterests. These things are best handled by nameless, faceless, lavishly-funded and politically-engineered bureaucracies. It follows, naturally, the power of what choices should be available and which will be forced upon you (by suppository, if necessary) rests not with We The People, but instead with We The Self-Elected-and-Panty-Bunched Hall Monitors of American Society. It is a movement of the Ill-informed but Well-intentioned led by the Well-Informed but Ill-Intentioned, easily swayed and directed by specious strawman arguments that are more about the manipulation of base emotions than they are about logic and common sense.
And so, here we are; We have no money. We have no jobs. The Hope fades, the Change that was pictured on the box is not indicative of the Change we found inside it. It's like buying a box of Cracker-Jacks and getting a turd in the prize envelope. You asked for it, America, you got it; you followed a man with Third-World policies matched by a Third-World mentality. You thought he was smart; after all, the man was a Constitutional Scholar and Editor of the Harvard Law review. Why, he's such a brilliant lawyer that he's managed to criticize the Supreme Court, publicly, for a decision he didn't like, but apparently couldn't be bothered to read, but what difference does that make? It's not as if he actually believes in the Constitution (apparently, it only applies to terrorists caught red-fucking-handed, and is important only when one wants to hold show trials for other terrorists). He's so smart that he wrote two books; and by that I mean he merely signed his name to them...the rest was written by other people. Just like those eloquent, powerful speeches that get Chris Matthew's leg all tingly. If Barack Obama the Candidate had been seen on C-Span instead of (P)MSNBC, perhaps those who voted for this douche would have figured it all out.
Oh, right; C-Span is simply a rhetorical device. I forgot.
But still, give the man his due. Even if the Audacity of Hope has morphed into the Audacity of Dope, he still managed to pull off one of the Greatest Scams in American History; he convinced 52% of the votes that 'Community Organizer" was a real profession. He's managed to make Hillary Clinton appear to have been the saner and more-attractive option. He's succeeded in making Barney Fwank appear more manly. The Obama Aura seems poised to knock off more democratic Congresscritters than Newt Gingrich and Bags of Cash in the Freezer...combined. The President has accomplished the incredible feat of making Joe Biden, until recently a joke and merely annoying back-bencher, appear both relevant and Statesmanlike. Michael Steele. John Boehner and Mitch McConnel look like Real Leaders by comparison. He's made Glenn Beck filthy rich, and Rush Limbaugh filthier-richer still. Barack Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like a sane man. He's made a tax evader the head of the IRS. He's spawned a nostalgia for George W. Bush.
He's won a Nobel Prize for being black.
How do you possibly top that? What can you possibly do for an encore?
At this point in time, Barack Obama could lead Osama bin Laden into Times Square in chains, and a sizable percentage of the audience might seriously consider stoning Obama to death first. He could Piss Beer and Shit Skittles and you still wouldn't want him anywhere near your Super Bowl party.
Barack Obama was always a Creation; of the media, of the irrational guilt that some liberalsthe still bear for the stain of slavery, of the Political Correctness of the Democratic Party Machine, of the desperate times in which he was elected. He promised to be a Savior, but has instead become a Stinker. He will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents this country has ever endured. It is now apparent that this man was never prepared to be President, never mind the exigent circumstances of his election. He's never worked in the public sector, he's never served in the military, he'd never really left the sheltered world of the Ivy League Ivory Tower and never drew a paycheck that wasn't swiped from someone else's pocket.
Thankfully, in a short time, if we can just hang on, some real Hope may be restored. Not by Stimulus Bills that stimulate nothing except ACORN and the SEIU, not by adopting Nazi-party economics and making the largest corporations de facto arms of the Federal Government. No, this hope comes in the form of a lovely little 8-letter word: N-O-V-E-M-B-E-R. The People are pissed; they will stand for no more. They have remembered that they were promised a government "Of the People, By the People and For the People", and not a government "Of the Unions, By The Liberal Elite, and For the Lazy, Halt and Stupid".
With luck, the damage done to us in Our Winter of Discontent may be contained, and the process can begin to reverse it. In time we may recover.
Spring may still follow Winter, after all.

The Honeymoon's Over...Now Let's Get Divorced...
The Wall Street Journal this morning reports that the Obama Mystique has been ruined. Mostly by Obama himself, but I'm sure that somehow, we'll be hearing that Barack Obama failed because America is a racist nation that couldn't take a Black Man in the White House for about the next five decades or so. Several 'scholars' will make a few million bucks on worthless books that 'study' that premise, and a new generation of poverty pimps will have a new bloody shirt to wave, and the thing will have run it's natural course and ultimately, be forgotten.
But, I think the effect that Barack Obama has had, and will continue to have, is much more profound. To start, there's the matter of what damage he can manage to do to the apparatus of government, and the precedents he sets in exceeding Presidential authority, or even Constitutional restrictions regarding the separation of powers. There will be a lagging cultural residue of Obamania that will be noticeable for a while, but eventually will fade away as people begin to realize that the whole thing was rather silly to begin with. There will be a vocal minority that will continue to believe that Obama was the Savior of Us All, but they're mostly brainwashed Hippies, dopey College Kids who will eventually grow up, and Blacks so consumed by Hatred of Whitey that logic and reason can't find a way into their narrative of racism.
In the short term, The Obama Mystique will probably serve a few useful ends; from now on, for the foreseeable future, Americans will be much more circumspect about who they vote for. They'll want to get beyond the slick marketing and Chris Matthews' tingly leg, and want to stick to the Old Script: Experience, Competence, Knowledge, and Substance. If this disaster makes the American Voter a more careful shopper, we'll owe Mr. Obama a debt of gratitude for that at least.
On the minus side, though, I think Obama's failure (and it's mostly a failure of his own making) pretty much kills the idea of another Black President for a very long time. Even one with an 'R' next to his name. Obama's brand of Black-Liberation-Theology-Meets-Karl-Marx-Social-Justice-and-Alinsky-Style-Ninja-Activism, is probably dead, at least for as long as it takes for it's practitioners to take it back underground, give it a facelift, adapt it to a changing culture, and re-emerge in another two or three decades.
The death of that sort of political philosophy is probably the best thing that Barack Obama will ever accomplish, Nobel Prizes for being black, notwithstanding.

Who Was That Masked Man?
Never mind what Dick Morris said about "pivoting"; that Barack Obama guy on TV the other night didn't pivot on his own politics and policies as much as pirouette through his own bullshit.
One minute we have Obama-the-Fiscal-Hawk-Tax-Cutter-Economy-Saver conservative, and then the very next Obama-the-Spend-Money-We-Don't-Have-Like-A-Drunken-Sailor liberal reasserts itself. We have Obama the I'm-a-Uniter-Not-a-Divider voice of reason, and then we return to the Republicans-as-The-Party-Of-No-As-a-Political-Strategy-To-Fuck-Me-Up-And-Screw-America routine.
We ride the crest of the wave when he says He's ready to take responsibility and will be focused on this, that or the other thing, only to fall headlong into the trough when he starts whining about having inherited this, that and the other, or about how his job isn't easy, and nothing gets done because he wishes it, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
You asked for the job, Asshole. You spent a billion bucks of other-people's money to get it. This comes with the territory.
You almost wonder who the hell this guy is, sometimes. Is he simply stupid, not understanding the tasks at hand and unable to ask for the proper advice on them? Is he just convinced of his own innate superiority and will take no council but his own, flawed and imperfect as it may be? Is he simply someone trying to get by, with a super-thin resume, lack of experience, with no working knowledge of the world outside academia and government to draw upon? In other words, no experience of how the rest of us live and think? Is he a confidence man, a mere scammer who managed to talk himself in to a post way above his abilities? Is he simply a puppet of the left-liberal establishment, kept inside a bubble and told what to think and say, who never expected to actually get this job, and having landed it, turned to the wrong people for help and support?
When he wasn't paraphreasing Marx and Alinsky, he was ripping off GWB and Reagan.
Who knows why he does it, or how it happens? I don't even think Obama knows some days.

Gee, Where Did I hear That One Before?
Sweet Jesus on Roller skates, the man really thinks we're that stupid!
That speech (by the way, could he waste even more time gladhanding people who secretly hate him?) was basically a recycling of every Republican/Conservative idea of the last 30 years;
Fiscal Responsibility
Paying down the Deficit
Nuclear Power, Offshore drilling, More Coal
Capital Gains and other (as yet unidentified) Tax Cuts (hey, weren't the Bush Tax cuts what helped destroy the economy in the first place?)
I guess he figures you're too stupid to realize that he's basically lifting the entire platform of the people he's spent the last three years demonizing?
By the way, when it comes to his own (failed) ideas Stimulus, Health Care, Bashing Wall Street, Phony War on Terrorism (which was all about him, in case you didn't notice) -- the only thing I heard was: full speed ahead!
Here's a really neat game you can play at home;
Who said this?
"...“Through stricter accounting standards and tougher disclosure requirements, corporate America must be made more accountable to employees and shareholders and held to the highest standards of conduct...."
Answer: George W. Bush, in his 2002 SOTU Address...and Barack Obama in his speech tonight.
Okay, here's a tougher one. Who said this?
"...Many of you have talked about the need to pay down our national debt. I listened, and I agree. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to act now, and I hope you will join me to pay down $2 trillion in debt during the next 10 years..."
Answer: George W. Bush, in his 2001 SOTU Address...and Barack Obama in his speech tonight. It's freakin' freaky, man! It's like, Obama copied all of Bush's speeches or something, and here i was thinking that dems thought Bush was some sort of drooling idiot, and stuff. I guess we're supposed to believe all these things sprang from Obama's fertile and superior mind, right?
The Cato Institute is currently investigating the number of times Obama has lifted the exact words or themes of George W Bush's SOTU Addresses and recycled them as his own tonight. I'll post that link when it's up and running. Figuring since he's already been busted twice, it'll probably be a substantial number.
Oh, and you thought I was only kidding about the chin thing, right?
(H/T Instapundit)
And let's not forget his stunning assault on the First Amendment, vis-a-vis the Supreme Court's recent striking down of parts of the Campaign Finance Reform monstrosity. You know, the one that Obama had to have an argument about with Justice Alito before he finally took the podium to bore the shit out of me?
It was already an excruciating burden to bear in waiting for the Mid-Term elections to finally get here so that we could stem the tide of Government stupidity. Now it appears that 2012 can't get here fast enough, either. This man is both brazen con artist and clueless asshole.
And by the way, can we stop having these things? I mean, putting the entire Congress, the President and Vice President, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Supreme Court all into the same building, making it a nice, fat target for terrorists just so we can be lied to and bored out of our boxers is getting to be a rally bad idea. Doesn't anyone in Washington read Tom Clancy?

Douchebag of the Week (1/25/10): Howard Dean...
Howard Dean is pretty much a douchebag every day, and such an easy target. If we had an award for Daily Douchebag then he'd almost certainly be the unassailable, world-record holder (with Al Gore nipping at his heels, naturally), but Howard's been particularly extra-specially douche-y this past week.
Dean is the titular head of the democratic party (which is better than his last job: Governor of Vermont, which is like being President of the Glee Club), a man who finds himself in an indefensible position nowadays; his party is pushing some extremely unpalatable policies, what with preparing to destroy the American medical system and insurance industry, treating terrorists as if they were wayward teenagers defacing public property with graffiti, distributing more money than can possibly be printed to democratic-party patronage groups (and Congressional districts that don't exist) under the guise of Economic Stimulus, the Nazi-like take over of both heavy industry and the banks. What makes this all more frightening than it already is, is that even with control of the Congress and White House not only can his democratic party not even enact their own agenda, but the endless drama without resolution actually has an effect on the country; everyone is left hanging. The inertia is beginning to affect whatever hopes for economic recovery we may have had before the election of Barack Obama.
Small business does not hire because it's waiting to see if the government socializes health care first. The banks want to pay back their TARP money, but the government makes them hold onto the payments. The Mortgage Folks are being told to continue the practice of handing out risky mortgages to politically-favored groups, while the government tells them they need to adopt stricter standards. Wall Street gets pounded from the White House and Congress every day, but who do you think generates the economic activity that Washington taxes? People need jobs, and we were told that the Stimulus would provide those, but no one lifts a finger to get all that "money to repair our infrastructure" moving because it's not supposed to be given out until near the midterms or until 2012 -- in other words, not until disbursement becomes politically advantageous for the democrats. We're all in a state of suspension, and that's when we're not simply disgusted by all the other stuff the democratic party is advocating.
So, what did the voters of New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts do when they had elections for governor and Senate? They voted for republicans, naturally. Republicans may have been the witless boobs who were "in charge" when the financial system tanked, but you could at least count on them to do something, and more, something that made sense. The American people are tired of Hope and Change, after realizing that it wasn't exactly the Hope and Change they were promised and the same cast of characters seems to be involved still.
When people need jobs to keep the roof over their head and food in their belly, they aren't inclined to view the dangers of Climate change, Cap-and-Trade, and whether or not 30 million illegal immigrants get health insurance as a priority. Unfortunately for Dean and his band of democrats, they don't share the same priorities as the rest of us. Worse, even when it is made painfully evident that their priorities aren't shared -- by Tea Parties, raucous Town Hall Meetings, three elections in which safe democratic seats and offices went to the republican --, they (democrats) still insist on hammering away at the same "solutions" with no better results.
Even with unassailable majorities in both Houses, neither Pelosi nor Reid can pass a damned thing that won't come back to bite them both on the ass in 10 months. They keep generating much drama, and many headlines, and lots of paper...for nothing. To actually achieve anything is to put them on the unemployment line, and they know it. There's no 'reform' of anything. There's no new New Deal. There's nothing coming out of Congress except democrats...they keep 'retiring' before they get the beating of their lives in November. In the meantime, the American people wait with a growing sense of unease for help. The democratic party is too absorbed with the Dog-and-Pony Show that it has initiated for political purposes, and is too committed to it's internal ideological battles, to actually provide anything useful at all.
And there is poor Howard; having to put the best face on things, and failing miserably. (See video) Taken apart by Chris Matthews, no less, while stubbornly arguing -- against all logic -- that Scott Brown and Chris Christie and the Dude In Virgina were not a harbinger of democratic disaster to come, but rather a rejection of individual democrats and not the irrational and dangerous policies pursued by the democratic majority, or even of Barack Obama himself.
Yes, Howard, you tried to brazen it out, but it was just too weak an argument to withstand even The most cursory examination. For being such a lying sack of shit, you Howard Dean, are our Douchebag of the Week.

The Green Jobs Myth...
Caught a report on FoxNews yesterday which centered on a manufacturer of solar panels in Massachusetts. This business was being hailed as a success story in the new Green Energy sector of American business; a small, American-startup which worked with state and federal authorities to get some financing (tax credits, low-interest loans and so forth), and then provided a community with 800 jobs. A great story, right?
Well, no.
Because that business is packing up and moving some of it's jobs...to China.
Why?
According to the Chief-Cook-and-Bottlewasher (paraphrasing);
"We can't compete because US demand for Solar Energy is down, and the Chinese have made a commitment (i.e. given us a much better bribe) to becoming the Green Energy capital of the world."
Well, the reason the 'demand for solar power' is down is because the demand for all energy is down. That happens in a recession, you idiot. Besides, solar power is more expensive that the dirty stuff that comes out of coal-fired plants, and that makes it even less attractive. In the realm of real-world economics, you would either go out of business, or have to find something else to do. Your response makes you sound as if you believe you have a right to stay in business, making a product fewer people want, while still making a hefty profit, funded by the taxpayer and the bank with more tax breaks and more cheap credit forever.
Here's a guy who gets free fucking money -- operating in an industry all the Earth-firsters claim is going to be the next Industrial Revolution, no less -- and he says he can't stay in business without a massive infusion of (free-to-nearly-free capital), tax breaks, and direct government subsidies. But in this day-and-age when automakers making crap for two decades can expect taxpayers to bail them out, or insurance companies that make risky investments and banks that waste money stupidly can still pay massive bonuses to under-performing executives, with taxpayer funds, how could we blame him for harboring such a stupid idea?
Naturally, when he can't get those things, he'll simply move to China. There, he will enjoy the added bonuses of not having to deal with labor and environmental laws -- not to mention shedding the responsibility of having to pay for any benefits whatsoever --after already having taken the taxpayer for the cash to start and establish his business, he now offers the same taxpayer (and his employees) a hale-and-hearty "Fuck You".
And a bunch of people in Massachusetts lose their jobs, adding to the general economic misery in New England. Incidentally, this is an example of exactly what those who adocate for the Green Energy industry want; the innovation and investment will occur in the West, financed by the Western taxpayer, the actual production and employment will occur in the East. The West will lose moneyand see it's economy shrink, the East will gain jobs and it's economy will rise to meet that of the West, the playing field will be evened, and that's how World Socialism will be brought about --- in the guise of Capitalism.
The 2010 midterms cannot come fast enough, if only because they represent a shred of hope that some people who understand economics will come to the fore, and rescue us from Congresscritters who think their first priority is to ensure the entire country gets a free enema at the Mayo Clinic, rather than fixing the fundamental economic and legal issues that are making us uncompetitive.
Well, no.

A New Year's Resolution...
Judicial Watch lists the 10 most corrupt politicians of 2009. I wonder how many are up for re-election in 2010 and 2012?
Can we make a resolution, one and all, that when these criminals come up for re-election, that none of them gets your vote?
The country needs to be saved by us, the citizens, exercising common sense and good judgement because our so-called "leaders" are devoid of either. Make these your priorities in the coming mid-term elections:
1. Re-establish the power of The Governed over The Government,
2. Say NO to graft, dishonesty, and stupidity.
3. Hold President Obama and Nancy Pelosi to their pledges on Transparency and Ethics. We want all bills on the Internet five days before any voting takes place, we want to know what gets said in closed-door ethics hearings, we want up-and-down votes when called for, we want debates --we have the right to know what you're doing before you do it.
4. Say NO to a government take-over of 1/6 of the US Economy with a policy crafted in the Senate Men's Room in the dark of night. We want the government out of our financial institutions and GM, as soon as possible. No more bailouts, ever.
5. Pray for and support our troops, urge our leadership to fight the Islamonazis, and bring them all home victorious and safe.
6. Put Chris Dodd and Charlie Rangel in prison, where they belong, Tar-and-feather Barney Frank (he might enjoy certain jailhouse activities a just a wee too much), chip in to buy John Kerry a personality, please give to the John Ensign I-Can't-Stop-Cheating-On-My-Wife-Fund -- he has an ex-paramour to bribe into silence.
7. Demand lower taxes and less government interference in your personal lives.
8. Keeps your eyes and ears open for Muslims Terrorists, since Homeland Security ain't.
9. Dispel the rumor that a Congresscritter can go through life anonymously -- keep in touch with your Congressional Delegates and let them know you care, you're watching -- you pay taxes and you vote.
10. Find like-minded people, form your own Tea Parties, and get involved in discussions of local politics and political action. Don't wait for the Republican or Democratic Party to do anything for you, because they won't if they believe they can get away with it. Make yourself heard, and your presence felt.

You Voted for this, You Hopenchange Morons...
So, I hope y'all get killed first. This is what you have wrought:
Administration's non-response response to an attempted terrorist attack.
Dems cut Airport Security funds last summer. (The twelve people who will eventually receive Obamacare Eyedrops and Band-Aids, and the 300 government employees who will make sure they get them, are extremely grateful).
Jonah Goldberg pretty much sums it all up.

Obama Parachutes Into Climate Talks, Throws Tantrum, Claims Victory...Then Leaves.
The Copenhagen (or was that Hopenchangen?) Climate Change Conference is a bust, despite all the rainbows and sunshine the media tries to blow up your ass. It was doomed from the beginning, what with the entire theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming pretty much disproved by the fact that he scientists seem to have faked their 'facts'. It was bound to trip up because of the conflicting interests of business and state (yeah, like the Chinese were gonna keep any promises they made, and the Indians just flat out gave the world the middle finger on Carbon limits).
Of course, it got progressively worse. Al Gore made an appearance to...do what no one seems to know. Probably to make more money, and a bigger ass, out of himself. You know your little soiree is fucked when Al shows up. Then the Prince of Wales shows up, talking apocalypse in the next seven months, trailing an entourage big enough to choke a Pharaoh, after spewing 2,600 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere just to get to the conference, while the average Briton spews 11 tons in a year, and the hypocrisy is lost even on him. These two sorta make your cause look ridiculous.
Then there were the riots. About what, no one seems to know. Save the planet; Storm a Starbucks. It doesn't make any sense at all.
And then, The One arrived and put the kiss of death on the whole thing. According to the tales being told, Obama was so desperate to a) get a deal that he could use for propaganda purposes, and b) get someone... anyone... to talk to him, that he basically threw a tantrum and then behaved as if the whole thing were some sort of made-for-TV drama -- with him as the star. He made an ass out of himself, declared victory (without explaining what that meant), and then left before anyone could discover the truth.
The only things missing were the giant "Mission Accomplished" sign and a carrier landing.
But, according to those who were there and covered the (fortunate) catastrophe of Copenhagen, the Savior of the Universe left a bad taste in a lot of mouths, and lied through his teeth to the American public, just so he could buff his 'image' and throw a bone to the foaming-at-the-mouth Left.
What an asshole.
You can read about it here and here.

If Tim Pawlenty Falls in the Woods, Does Anyone Give a Shit?
Tim Pawlenty, lilly-white-panty-buncher-nonentity from Minnesota, is in New Hampshire, announcing his intention to garner the republican nomination for President in 2012. The announcement is greeted here in Lunaticland with a great, big yawn.
Just when the republican party needs a figure capable of formulating a sane response to the Hopenchange message of it's political rivals, just when it requires someone capable of exciting The Base while still appealing to the great mass of 'independents' (i.e. those too stupid to choose a side, or simply waiting for a bribe in return for their votes) the republican establishment throws up this dude.
And 'throws up' is the proper term.
At a time when the great mass of the public is concerned with a political class that 'just doesn't get it', the political class goes out and proves it in spades.
Now, I'm not telling you I'm an expert on Tim Pawlenty, but if you asked me to give you an opinion on who I believe to be the top five republican prospects, Pawlenty rates somewhere near the 160th on the list. Right after Cholera, and just before Bubonic Plague. Someone must be pissing in this guy's ear with the usual claptrap about how he 'represents a sizable segment of public opinion', or how he speaks to 'conservative values' (having once been a Conservative before that actually lost any meaning whatsoever, I can tell you that it's my considered opinion that 'Conservative' now simply means 'Bible-thumping-gay-hating-redneck-with-a-fifth-grade-education-and-a-Norman-Rockwell-delusional-view-of-America'). Conservative no longer means a believer in the sovereign right of the people and advocacy of individual liberties; it's a tribal affiliation. Sorta like gang colors.
Tim Pawlenty couldn't be elected dog catcher outside of Minnesota, but that doesn't matter; he's ideologically pure.
It's time to get some real conservatives into the fight, and I don't mean the God-fearin' sort that would make the pilgrimage to Bob Jones University; I mean the ones who actually espouse conservative positions that don't find their genesis in Scripture (pardon the pun).
Start with Sarah Palin (who is at least wildly popular, if relatively unprepared), and then include Rudy Guiliani, Condoleeza Rice, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.
The last four, despite their obvious talents and proven records, will never get a chance because that Calvinist wing of the republican party will do their level-best to chase them off the stage -- because their social views don't pass Godbot muster, their position on abortion is unknown, one's a Mormon (next to devil worship!), and the other cheated on his wife, despite the fact that he engineered a republican takeover of the Congress and advanced a plethora of true conservative issues. True to form, the republican party seems determined to go down in flames with the likes of a Pawlenty than to do the right thing and establish conservatism before Calvinism, and so they will never get a fair hearing.
The RNC continues to listen to the wrong people who put their religion and their hang-ups before their reason. At this point in history, social issues need to take a back seat to the more crucial requirements of rebuilding the political system and structure, reestablishing the rights of the governed, and fixing the economy.
Discuss.

Reason #6,745 Why Your President is an Asshole...
It's just after 11 a.m. here in the East, and The Anointed One is making yet another televised appearance (he shouldn't bother; the pundits have been telling us all the how's and whyfore's of this event for the last two days. It's almost anti-climax when he actually does show up and uses a lot of words to say absolutely nothing). I have turned the idiot box off, as is my wont when the Savior of the Universe appears to lie to me in front of television cameras.
Today's appearance is all about the economy and Energy Conservation and Independence.
That's why the President had to close down an entire Home Depot superstore, bringing all economic activity to a screeching halt for the day of the speech, --at the very least -- while he displays his incredible economic ignorance and lack of ironic sensibilities for the next 40 minutes (the average amount of time his teleprompter can safely spew absolute bullshit before it overheats). That the speech will be staged before 300 high-intensity lights (which use an awful lot of electricity), recorded and broadcast by multiple cameras (which use an awful lot of electricity) --will be completely lost on him.
I'm so glad I didn't vote for this prick, and that so many of you who did now seem so incredibly ashamed of it.
Update: Mark Steyn says it all here.
