...which is a waste of perfectly good produce, if you ask me. Don't they have bricks in the Middle East?
Secretary of State Hillary "the Hildebeest" Clinton was greeted in the new "Moderate" "democratic" Egypt this weekend by a hostile crowd of people-who-wouldn't-dream-of-voting-for-the-Muslim-Brotherhood with taunts of "Monica!", "Monica!", and a shower of airborne salad components.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer person! One wonders if there was also a complementary Islamically-approved vinaigrette served with this humiliation.
Guess all that Smart Diplomacy is paying dividends, eh?
I applaud this "Moderate, modern, democratically-inclined, Islamic youth". They certainly seem smarter than our own!
UPDATE: Word has it that George W. Bush has been quoted as saying "At least they weren't throwing size-12 sandals, still covered in goat shit from the last orgy. Count your blessings, Little Lady! Welcome to my world, Bitch! Not so funny now, is it?"
Insanity is not a disease; it's a defense mechanism. The opinions expressed here are disturbing and often disgusting to those with no sense of humor. I make no apologies for them, either. Contact the Lunatic at Excelsior502@gmail.com.

Obama's Strategery...
Okay, I can finally see it now; the Grand Strategery (as George W. Bush would say) by which one Barack Hussein Obama figures to win re-election this November.
Mind you, it was incredibly difficult for me to discern the President's master plan, as it was cloaked in such marvelous subtlety, such painstakingly nuanced language and symbolism, and a healthier-than-usual dose of democratic party crapspeak, that one would have just thought the President an incompetent boob in way over his head at first blush.
However, that facade of stupidity, that shield of sheer Carter-like mediocrity, that veneer of maladroitness has been, all along, merely the cover under which the masterstroke that will ensure victory in 2012 was concealed.

Guess Who's Running for President in 2012, Part II...
Report: Hillary 'fed up' with President who can't decide if it's Tuesday or Wednesday.
Moral of the story: when you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
I guess when Hillary took that Sec. State job, the first real one she's ever had, she figured it would mean no work. I've had managers exactly like Obama , who change their minds more than they change their underwear, or who defer making decisions in order to avoid looking stupid and unqualified. People like that expect others to do all the heavy lifting so that they can reap all the rewards. They never put their name to anything, if they can avoid it, and have the ability to generate tons of useless memos that are full of hemming-and-hawing language that's intended to ensure that they can always be on both sides of any issue.
The first Rule of Management on Wall Street was always "never be in the room when a decision gets made...", and apparently that's the new Golden Rule at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Even yesterday's "victory" in the United Nations -- the permission to setup a No-Fly Zone in Libya -- was a sterling example of Obama not taking (any) action, and waiting for someone else to provide him with a fig leaf. Now that a No-Fly Zone is 'authorized' let me tell you what happens in Libya next:
1. Khadaffi doesn't let anyone in his Air force fly as much as a paper airplane or kite. They don't really need to anymore, having basically crushed the rebellion.
2. Khadaffi tells his air defense crews to keep their radars turned off, their guns unloaded, and to not even give coalition warplanes as much as a dirty look.
3. Khadaffi tries to look all reasonable, and maybe even makes false overtures to the rebels (by the way, can we stop calling them 'Rebels'? If they succeed they're only going to vote to install a Khomeini-like theocracy, anyways. These are not 'rebels', they're terrorists-in-training).
4. Just in case some sandy little douche in Libya doesn't get the message and fires a spitball at one of our planes anyway, the Obama Admin. will handcuff our guys with a set of rules of engagement that only allows them to fire, even in self-defense, every other Thursday between 12:58 and 1:00 pm. There won't be any shooting back, because that makes a mess and 'only creates more terrorists'.
5. When the 'International Community' finally gets bored with waiting for Khadaffi's flyboys to take their chances, they'll start bombing planes on the ground. Bombing Khadaffi's troops, however, will be a different story. That would make sense, which is why it won't happen, even with all that 'by all means necessary' bullshit. After the Libyan Air Force is destroyed on the ground, and the pilots come back from vacation, Khadaffi will use the nation's oil money to buy a new-and-improved Libyan Air Force...from Russia and China, two countries which"abstained' from yesterday's 'historic' vote.
6. Safe from the threat of air attack due to Western cowardice and an abundance of misplaced caution, and secure in the knowledge that even when 'justified' the 'International Community' will agonize over giving any order to shoot at anyone, Khadaffi's tanks, artillery and terrorists (they ain't soldiers) will move into Benghazi and make the Rape of Nanking look like an out-of-control frat party.
(Ed. Note: Personally, I don't give a shit if Libyans are killing each other. It only means there will be fewer terrorists for us to kill later on. Unless we intend to bomb both sides, this whole thing was a dog-and-pony show).
Khadaffi has already won. Because he was given three weeks to do so. Because Barack Obama couldn't find it in himself to make 'the right' call. He'd rather just say "Khadaffi Must Go", and then let someone else handle the details.
You just know that The Hildebeest goes home seething every evening. First, she finds herself sympathizing with John McCain in that "I can't believe I lost to this fucking douchebag!" way. Second, she's kicking herself in the ass for having been lured out of the Senate. She now sees this as a monumental mistake; had she been there, she could have gauged the political winds well enough to have been on the record against ObamaCare, and thus improved her chances for a 2012 Presidential victory. Finally, it must be dawning upon her that even if she were to pull off a masterstroke of diplomacy and actually solve a real problem in the world, Barack Obama would either claim credit for her victory, or more likely, turn all her work to shit with indecision and irresolution.
She's this-close to quitting. You can see it in her face. Five minutes after she does, you know that "Exploratory Committee" thing starts, and the effort to keep Bill in his doghouse begins anew. She's getting the Crusty Ol' Black Pantsuit out of mothballs.
In retrospect, it now appears that a Clinton Presidency in 2008 would have been the lesser of three evils, and frankly, considering the way the field is shaping up now for 2012, I wouldn't be surprised if she actually won if she were in it.
Then again, I have no sympathy for the bitch. She's made her bed. It will be interesting to see how she spins having been part of the most ineffective and conceited Administration since Jimmy Carter into a qualification, and maybe even electoral gold.
UPDATE: Danish socialists were ready to bomb Khadaffi before Obama was. What does this tell you (h/t Mark Steyn).

No 34 Warships?
The other day, I posted this based on an Indian news source that claimed President Odouchebag's trip is costing the American taxpayer $200 million a day, and will require the redeployment of an entire fleet. I was not the only blogger to run with that, so I don't feel completely stupid.
Well...this might not be exactly true. People all over the intertoobies have been "debunking" this "rumor" all weekend.
Still, you have to wonder:
1. Why the strongest denials come from U.S. government sources (i.e. The Pentagon, which is laboring under the false impression that it's "winning in Afghanistan", and probably doesn't confirm any movement of warships as a matter of security policy). Even if $200 million is a wildly-exaggerated figure, you'd think someone other the government would report what the trip is really costing. Like the New York Times, or something.
Oh, wait...they're too busy preparing their pre-written hit pieces in preparation for a Palin 2012 run. No time to investigate anything as silly as the cost of a Presidential overseas visit.
2. Why the Indian press should find it necessary to lie and/or exaggerate about this? Some might say that by concocting this elaborate scheme to exaggerate the cost/scope of Obama's visit, the Indians are either engaging in a simple act of chest-beating, or perhaps trying to send some sort of "diplomatic" message to Pakistan and China along the lines of "look how badly the Americans want to be our friends! See how important we are!"
However, I haven't heard a single talking head speak about this all weekend. Haven't read a thing about it, either.
However, what if the Indian press was simply confused? What if they meant 200 million rupees, and not dollars (have no idea how much that is in real money, can't be bothered to find out)? If they're confused, how did they get that way? After all, isn't it the White House or State Department who gives out that sort of information?
3. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has no credibility...on anything. When he says the numbers are inflated (number of people, number of hotel rooms, number of warships, prices, etc.), I'm inclined to be sceptical. That's just what happens to a man's reputation when you're a known liar, who works for an even bigger known liar.
Update: I can't wait to hear the explanation for this: Obama's personal Bombproof tunnel,specially-made for his Ghandi museum visit.

Why The Liberal View of How the World Views Us, is Seriously Wrong...
I'm writing this in response to what passes for Foreign Policy in the Time of Obama. It's hard to know where, exactly, to begin. I guess I could speak to the stagnation, if not collapse, of the Old Trans-Atlantic alliances in which Obama curries the favor of France and Germany (so that they'll appear to do more in Afghanistan), but snubs Britain (who has been there since Day One, and in Iraq, too), even going as far as to send the British PM home with Consolation Prizes that wouldn't make the First-Loser's Cut on Jeopardy.
Or, I might be start with Israel, where it's apparently Obama Admin boilerplate that The Joos simply must conspire in their own demise if the so-called Peace Process isn't to be exposed as the sham that it always was. The Peace Process (or rather the Process of having a Process) has become a goal in itself. It seems that the ultimate purpose of this mystical Peace Process in the last 30 years has been more a means by which American Presidents can garner the favor of People Who Shouldn't Really Count, at the expense of The People We Can Really Count Upon. The latest brouhaha over some Israelis wanting to add second bedrooms, or perhaps redo the kitchen, is ridiculous. Especially when the Other Side in this Dispute keeps as it's base negotiating position that Israel in general, and the Jews in particular, shouldn't exist -- and they're entitled to do the exterminating as both a religious and political imperative.
How about that lovely little hatchet job the Obamatards did on Hamid Karzai? I have no love for the man, either, but he is Our Bastard Child. The Master Plan for Afghanistan seems to be something like this:
1. Talk tough in front of the Teleprompter and TV Cameras about how you're "Fightin' the Extremists".
2. Blame George Bush.
3. Apply some Rah-Rah Bullshit, mention Bin Laden a few times, and let everyone know he's still out there. And that George Bush and John McCain still haven't gotten him,
4. Ignore the requests and requirements of the Generals who will actually fight the war, send just enough troops to appear to be doing something -- but not enough to finish the job before your previously-announced, 2011 pull-out date. Launch a few missiles from some drones. Make certain you've dithered over even this watered-down strategy for six months, and claim it as an example of Obama's "superior and reasoned response to the problems of terrorism".
5 Fuck Hamid Karzai in the rear on our way out, so that once we're gone, he can have a full-fledged civil war on his hands, returning Afghanistan to it's natural, pristine state of multi-cornered, multi-ethnic fighting, with a dash of poisonous religious undertones provided by a Taliban that managed to survives all that War-on-Terror-in-Name-Only Stuff. Democracy will have been strangled in the cradle in Afghanistan (not that it would have had much of a chance to begin with), but that's okay, because you can always...
6. Blame George Bush.
As for the rest of the planet, it seems the Obamatard Foreign Policy revolves around three central tenets:
1. Apologize for being the United States, and all that entails,
2. Beg the rest of the World to Love Us. And their incentive to do so will not be because we're a beacon for Freedom, the ultimate Hope of Mankind, it'll be because we're willing to change to suit their wants and tastes.
3. Get the photos of Obama surrounded by Foreign Leaders at the Sham Summit Meeting, which results in an International Treaty that Does Nothing, but which makes him look all Presidential and Important and Relevant in that dramatic Great-Man-of-History-Way that Stalin had down to a tee.
This is wrong. Americans should never apologize, for anything, and American Presidents should not behave this way just to get their faces and exaggerated claims of their greatness into the History Books. Because, to be honest, it's not Americans who have the problem in terms of being liked and being important, it's the Rest of the World that does. Specifically, it has do with them Wanting to Be America, but failing miserably. The World has an inferiority complex; every culture, every nation, secretly longs to have what America has, to be what America IS. They may not want what we have to the same extent that we have it (granted, a 24-hr , Drive-through window at KFC, Jersey Shore and Top Chef may be going a bit too far), but they want it all the same.
I've been all over the world, traveling on vacations or business. I have been acquainted with many people from many foreign nations and cultures. They're pretty much all assholes. I'm sure they say the same thing about me. I don't claim any specific expertise on this subject, but it seems to me (I'm generalizing, yes) that We spend far too much time trying to Please and Understand Those Assholes -- as if we are somehow, mystically responsible for making "the first move" in the process of creating the Kumbaya Planet. Perhaps it's time The Other Assholes made an effort to Please and Understand US.
I don't mean to say that The Others aren't entitled to their opinions and feelings (unless they're Arabs, in which case their opinions don't count because they're prejudiced by a belief in a child-molesting murderer who says God gave his people special permission to kill, rape, rob and enslave those who don't believe in him, too), what I'm saying is that it's not necessary for us to compromise our beliefs and principles, to change who we are, just to satisfy them. Because it's often not worth the effort.
Also, because History (the very subject President Douchebag and most Liberals seem allergic to)shows that when the compromise is all one way, someone's getting screwed.
Either we are a country which honors it's founding principles by standing up for and promoting them, by finishing the tasks and challenges we set before ourselves, that is Proud of Who We Are, or we're the New Canada -- and our overarching goal is to simply be the Most Popular Girl on Campus. Not surprisingly, the Most Popular Girl On Campus often happens to be a whore who's popularity is usually based upon the fact that she will do The Things the Other Girls Won't. Her popularity is derived from her willingness to give her honor and self-respect away, often for nothing more than the appearance of being liked. She is never respected, no matter how many football players she takes on.
We are not a nation of Whores -- except for our Political Class -- and when President Bambi bows before dictators, half-heartedly fights wars he's put an expiration date on, signs meaningless scraps of paper just to give the appearance of having done something dramatic and effective, and abandons, insults and undercuts our allies -- just so our enemies might like us a little bit more -- he's doing far more damage to the United States, and imperilling our lives.
Our Enemies don't want to find reasons to Like Us; they just want us Dead. If they can't have that, they're willing to settle for the next-best-thing -- An America which will drop to it's knees and be their bitch, substituting self-worth for the appearance of approval.
I personally could give a shit if the Chinese, Russians, Iranians and Belgians approve of Me. They are cultures which are already on their way down the toilet -- between the imbalance in Chinese population caused by the One Child Policy, The State-sanctioned Criminality of Moscow, the stagnation of a culture run by Religious Fanatics with an Apocalyptic Worldview, or the declining birthrates of a Hedonistic Society which is Importing it's own Demographic Doom from amongst it's enemies -- they will not survive in their current form, and their futures are very bleak, indeed.
Why seek approval from the Doomed, the Criminal, and Impenetrably Stupid? Especially when they're marching towards the Oblivion they've created for themselves with their eyes wide open? Fuck 'em, I say. We're their ultimate salvation (and I don't mean that in the religious sense) and part of the process of making them see this is not to change in order to curry their favor; doing this simply means we're adopting their manners and customs and modes of thought -- the very things which are destroying them in the first place -- for very shallow reasons. There's no return on investment in acting that way.
President Odickhead will be very rudely reminded of that fact sometime in the near future, when all of his careful "engagement" of Iran results in a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv, and a resurgent Taliban is shipping terrorists and Anthrax into Atlanta.
Or, I might be start with Israel, where it's apparently Obama Admin boilerplate that The Joos simply must conspire in their own demise if the so-called Peace Process isn't to be exposed as the sham that it always was.

Building the Myth of the "Great Man" Of History, Part 2...
On the news that Syria has just given Hezbollah Scud missiles capable of hitting Tel-Aviv with a nuclear warhead;
The Obama administration has told us since it's inception that Syria is an important player, I believe the phrase is "potential ally", in the elusive quest for "Middle East Peace". The theory is that if we just "engage" Syria, and apply "diplomatic pressure" upon them, Syria will stop arming and aiding Hezbollah, and will also aid the United States in the fight against Al'Qaeda in Iraq, since many AII terrorists are operating from across the Syrian border.
To this end, the Obamatards sent John Kerry to Syria two weeks ago to "voice long-running concerns" with what passes for the leadership of Syria, and there's supposed to be a new ambassador to Syria to be named shortly, a symbol of America's willingness to go the extra mile in the name of "Peace".
Okay, a couple of things about all of this:
Why is Syria is still on the map? This is one aspect of the War on Terror that has always troubled me greatly. Of course, I say the same thing about all Muslim countries. It has been my contention since September 12, that the only way to put an end to the problem of Islamic Terrorism is to make sure there were a lot of dead Islamics, and that the United States should not limit the (armed) scope of it's War on Terror to simply those terrorists groups we currently have in our sights (Taliban, Al'Qaeda and it's off-shoots), but to every terrorist group within range of American power, anywhere.
Syria is a major supporter of terrorist groups. It has provided shelter for terrorists who have killed American troops in Iraq. It serves as a base of operations and safe-haven for Hezbollah in it's fight against Israel. It has now given Hezbollah long-range ballistic missiles; These missiles will soon be paired to an Iranian nuclear weapon (since Hezbollah is a fully-owned subsidiary of Iran) and what happens next is not difficult to foresee.
But that's okay: Obama sent a man who's only talent is for marrying the widows of even richer men to "strongly" voice our concerns, and to beg Assad to be a pal. The price of "engaging" Syria, is going to be a lot of dead Jews so that The Won can appear to be fighting terrorists without actually fighting Islam. The two are one in the same, and the sooner the American ruling asses....errr...classes, realize this, the sooner we can get onto the real strategy that will ensure that another 9/11 never happens; inflicting unspeakable and immeasurable suffering upon Muslims.
Obama doesn't realize this -- because he hasn't studied any history that doesn't begin and end with black people and their grievances -- but the nature of the foe we're fighting today in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, is the same as it was in 1941-45. The Nazis and the Japanese were fanatics, convinced of their racial and cultural superiority, determined to rule the planet, and willing to fight to the very last man. He apparently doesn't know about Kamikazes and Waffen SS, about the ruthless and pitiless determination, the racial hatreds (the only racial hatred he knows about is the stuff he didn't hear Reverend Wright talk about for 20 years), the barbarity, displayed by both in battle...and even more so against non-combatants who either just happened to be in the way, belonged to categories of "inferior beings", or who had the temerity to protest against their treatment by their conquerors.
In the end, it required the destruction of both Germany and Japan to end that conflict. By gruesome and bloody combat on the ground, relentless carpet and fire bombing, the strangulation of blockade, and a couple of atomic bombs. Both nations, and the criminal leadership that ran it all, were brought to heel. But in the meantime, the cumulative effects of all that bombing, all that starvation, all those soldiers who didn't come back to the Ancestral Rice Farm because of American firepower ruthlessly-applied, had it's effect upon the German and Japanese people and economy. They tired of war, they ran out of supplies, their morale was sapped, they hadn't the means or the heart to continue the fight, and they became committed to maintaining peace after the hostilities were over -- because the experience of war had been too terrible to ever suffer again.
That stuff works. It worked when Genghis Khan tossed plague-infected bodies over city walls, and when Scipio Africanus sowed Carthage with salt. People who have been on the receiving end of that sort of thing pretty much learn the lesson "don't screw with those guys again".
But no, we'd rather "Engage" Syria. I'm not sure what the purpose of doing so ultimately is. It's not as if Syria has anything we want, and I wouldn't consider Assad the most trustworthy person on the planet, considering that we're trying to cultivate him for the purposes of promoting peace while he arms and protects terrorists. No amount of playing nice with Syria, I believe, is going to encourage Assad to stop.
The attempt will be made, however, because Obama must be seen as a figure who managed to do what no one else, no Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, no American President, has ever done: made a Middle-Eastern Dictator see the error of his ways without a shitload of high-explosives. It will be a triumph of Smart Diplomacy applied by the Smartest Man Ever over the Neanderthal method of Brute Force, and it will be a glorious achievement in the annals of Statesmanship.
Because the New York Times will say so. That's what it's all about; getting the Times to call you One of the Greats.
If I'm an Israeli General this morning, my job is probably figuring out how destroy the Syrian Air Force on the ground as a prelude to locating and bombing the bejesus out of some mobile SCUD launchers. And that's after I've already been kept awake nights for the past year by the problem of how to defend against, or pre-emptively strike at, an Iranian nuke.
Again, if I'm that General, I'd be in my Prime Minister's office right now begging to be given The Order, and screw what Obama has to say about anything. Obama is a strutting peacock, nothing without a staged event in front of a hand-picked and fanatically loyal audience and a teleprompter filled with someone else's words, and his opinion or wishes when the subject is the survival of the Jewish State is irrelevant. Besides, the worst you can expect in retaliation for daring to disrupt his carefully-thought-out plan of cultivating dictators who support terrorists is that John Kerry will show up to waggle his finger at you and talk out of his ass.
That's a trade I'd be willing to make.

Building the Myth of the "Great Man" of History...
Okay, so I haven't pummelled Obama this week, but maybe that's because he's given me an awful lot to think about, and gimme a break: I was busy. Anyway, this was a big week-to-ten-days for the DopenChanger-in-Chief, in terms of futility, stupidity, and surrender to our enemies.
To begin with, he's still pushing this ObamaCare crap as if it was the greatest thing since penicillin. There isn't a day that goes by that the dems aren't defending this thing in some of the most astonishing language (in terms of how they use a lot of words to say a whole lot of nothing). If you want to see just what kind of verbal gymnastics dems are now reduced to vis-a-vis Reparations for Slavery Stage I, then I suggest you take a look at Greta Van Sustern's interview last night with Sen. Ben Nelson, he of the Cornhusker Kickback.
Next, we come to the problem of Israel. Or rather, Obama's problem with Israel. The new talking-point this week is that we care more about second-bedrooms being built in Israel than we do about nuclear bombs being built in Tehran (it's kinda catchy, but a little too simplistic). For some reason, the Obama Administration, which was supposed to "strengthen the Old Alliances" continues to kick the "Old Allies" squarely in the nuts. But that's okay: Obama didn''t actually snub the Israeli Prime Minister by not inviting him to dinner and leaving him to wander the White House all by himself until after he got the "moneyshot" photo-op.
The Obamatards are simply following the lead of the several generations of the "Enlightened" Anti-Semites in liberal politics (small 'L' intentional) that came before them. It is a well-established fact, despite protests to the contrary, that the political left hates Jews. It's more than happy to accept self-hating Jews within it's ranks (and their numbers are legion), if only because it helps speed up the ultimate decline of the Jewish people by weakening them from within -- a common lefty tactic. Besides, best to know your enemy and all that.
These previous generations have all held that the primary source of conflict in the Middle East (actually, is there a war in the last 1,000 years that Jews don't get blamed for in some way?) is the existence of (in order) a) Jews (Hitler's view) and b) a Jewish state (The consensus opinion of the European Union and American Left), and that if you simply got rid of both, there'd be no more war or violence. Ever. Of course, this ignores the readily-evident facts that Arabs are violent, inbred, wife-beating retards, who if they didn't have Jews to hate would just as quickly turn upon each other. In fact, one could make the argument that when Arabs turn upon one another, the depths of the depravity, the intensity of the violence, exponentially increases. Just look at what happens when Sunni fights Shi'ite.
The real problem swirling about the State of Israel is not so much that it has Jews in it, as much as it is that it stands as an alternative to Islamic or Strongman rule. It is representative of the best aspects of Western Civilization, something Arabs so desperately admire, but cannot recreate for themselves. Israel is a viable and successful and very wealthy, and therefore extremely-attractive, alternative to what passes for civilization in Arab culture. Islam, much like Communism or National Socialism, can brook no competition, and it must strive to destroy those rivals completely before it's grip upon the minds and cultures poisoned by it fails. That is why Israel must be pushed into the sea; because it's very existence serves as a shining beacon of what Life Could Be without the Imams, Repressive Monarchies, and Leader-by-virtue-of-successful-coup-Colonels. The fact that Arabs will never learn the finer points of democracy, nor will they ever develop the attendant cultural underpinnings, is beside the point.
And of course, there's too much money involved in the violence. Do you really think Hamas and Fatah wants peace when the EU and United States simply open their wallets everytime the Israelis put a whipping on them in a fight that they started? Hamas and Fatah skim that "aid" money, and fund themselves in perpetuity with it. Anyways, back to the original point...
"Enlightened-Liberal-Anti-Semitism" basically holds that without Israel, there is no rationale for War. And if, by some chance the process of chucking Israel overboard just happens to mean the end of the Jews, well, then that's a price They're willing to pay for the appearance of peace. As an American (and a Gentile who grew up amongst some of the most Orthodox Jews you've ever seen in your life in Brooklyn), this is disgusting. What's even more nauseating is that the entire time The Left hides it's Anti-Semitism behind words like "Peace" and "Diversity". Stopping the expansion of Israeli settlements will not bring Peace; killing Arabs in numbers large enough, by methods terrible enough, to cause them to rethink the logic of their "struggle" will.
Anyways, no sooner do we piss the Israelis off and give them no assurances about their security against Iran, than Iran goes ahead and basically calls Obama a punk-ass-pussy-bitch. His response? To beg the Russians for a Nuclear Arms treaty that basically disarms US -- cutting our arsenal in half, with no ability to modernize what's left -- while getting no help from the Russkies on Iran -- the people who are building the Iranian reactors in the first place. But, the Obama Administration claims yet another "accomplishment" because it got a piece of paper with someone's signature on it (I seem to remember a certain man named Chamberlain who waved around pieces of signed paper...). The "accomplishment" is not even a workable system of actual Arms Control; it's the fact that there's a Treaty at all that is supposed to be the incredible accomplishment.
Still on the subject of Nukes, Obambi then goes to this Pantomime Dog-and-Pony show that's supposed to be about nuclear weapons, but turns out to be a sort of Woodstock for Liberal Israel Haters. No, the thrust of the meeting of a gazillion dignataries (where Obama bowed to yet another foreign dictator-in-disguise. Why not just do a tap dance, or get down on your knees and sing "Mammy!" and get it over with?), where those present "promised" to police up their loose plutonium and other nuclear materials that could be used by terrorists to make bombs.
I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but because Obama didn't get the Russians and Chinese to help with Iran, terrorists will soon have all the plutonium and uranium they need, regardless of whether or not the Canadians, Belgians and Cayman Islanders put every speck of the stuff under lock-and-key, and keep meticulous records. Because as soon as Iran can, it'll be giving the shit away to Al'Qaeda and Islamic Jihad and anyone else who wants it, and promises to use it against Israel and the West while denying Iranian complicity. But hey, it was a stunning visual effect, that cool-looking diplomatic cluster-fuck-aerial-photo, huh? Made for a great pic for the Presidential scrapbook!
That "Summit" accomplished nothing. Because none (or very few) of the countries which are likely to be the biggest problems were in attendance, or have any intention of actually abiding by any agreements whatsoever. It was a masterful piece of political kabuki, but it means absolutely jack shit. But then again, that was the ultimate goal; to put Obama into a scenario where he looks Statesmanlike and dramatic and all leadery-like, and fuck-all if he actually manages to get something important done for all the effort; the spin-meisters will turn it into something it isn't, and half the people in America won't even know or understand what has happened.
He then has the audacity (The Audacity of Dope!) , after showing this much stupidity and ineptitude, to question Sarah Palin's expertise on nuclear policy when she criticized him? People in glass houses and all that...
Anyway, the modus operandi of the Obama White House is becoming abundantly clearer every day; they don't really care about the actual results of their policies, what they care about is creating specific moments in which Obama can be portrayed as something he isn't, and then they claim Victory. It's a Presidency that will be defined by images and by claiming that unrealistic expectations were transformed into actualities. It has to be, because after the image there isn't much of substance -- and when it all fails, as fail it must -- it will always be due to some mysterious outside force, or as Commies liked to call them, Reactionary Elements, or Counter-revolutionaries.
In the Old Days, this was a code word for Monarchists and Jews. In the New America, this is a code word for Conservatives...and Jews. The reason Obama will have failed in the eyes of future historians will be because he was Super-Human, and we were not; the photographs, the Treaties and the Summit Meetings prove it. Only Great Men have Great Moments.
So what really matter is not whether any of Obama's policies actually works; it's that he gets to have a series of Historic Moments. That these moments have to be contrived and manufactured is besides the point; a hundred years from now, no one will ever know they were, and if the Left is lucky, most or all of what Obama ushered in will have stuck. The World Will Have Changed, and in that light, Obama becomes the next best thing to Jesus -- even if that means a mushroom cloud over Jerusalem, millions of Americans dead in the street for lack of food, shelter and medical care -- and that's when they weren't killed by the nuclear weapons smuggled into the country by terrorists allied to Iran.
And we'll have the photographs to prove just how great he was.
To begin with, he's still pushing this ObamaCare crap as if it was the greatest thing since penicillin. There isn't a day that goes by that the dems aren't defending this thing in some of the most astonishing language (in terms of how they use a lot of words to say a whole lot of nothing). This is What Happens When you a Join a Club that Includes Both the French and The Germans...
The European Union is doomed over the Fate of Greece. And naturally, the motivating factor is money. Everyone's friendly until there's money involved, aren't they? With Greece running deficits of 135% of GDP, the Germans have decided that bailing the country out is probably a bad investment. Better to let the IMF do it, and that means the United States, even if does basically destroy the Euro and make a mockery of a Common European Market.
Something like this was bound to happen, and by that I mean that the EU would eventually reveal itself to be a sham. It was never about European unity or collective security, or even about tariffs and labor; it has always been about the larger countries of Europe being able to shift the expense of their social burdens onto the smaller nations under the guise of a Common Market. Italian pensioners are being paid through the labor and taxation of Poles. Forty-year-old French retirees are receiving government-sponsored health care and maid service at the expense of Danish Farmers and Norwegian fishermen.
And now one of the member nations has finally done the unthinkable -- and forgotten it's place. Greece's place in the EU was to cover the cost of Italy, France and Germany's government debt, only the Grecian government ran up debt even faster than they did, and so the whole house of cards comes crashing down.
Good riddance.
And now that the Germans have signalled a return to sanity and have decided to follow their own national interest, perhaps the rest of Europe can now begin doing something it has urgently needed to do for many years and start re-arming; partly because anytime Germany flexes it's muscle in Europe it means war (eventually), and partly as economic "stimulus". But mostly because with the veneer of "Collective Security" that European Union once promised (but never delivered) finally gone, the Europeans will finally realize that they will have to defend themselves and finally take care of their own problems -- like a resurgent Russia, Angry Islamic Hordes within their borders, Yugoslavia, and a possible Islamic nuke.
Because the United States can no longer defend Europe, nor act as the buffer that keeps Europeans from killing each other. Barack Obama just made sure we'll be too broke to do so because we have to pay the medical bills of those who are irresponsible and the lazy. We're about to resemble Greece ourselves, the only question is how quickly we manage to get there. Expecting the IMF (which is basically the Bank of Last Resort, and backed by American Money which is now in ever-shorter supply) to bail Greece out is probably a non-starter, as well.
You can look forward to a beginning of the unravelling of the social fabric of Europe, one thread at a time.
The ultimate lesson of European collapse, of course, will be missed entirely by American Leftists, as it their wont.

The REAL War...And Why No One Will Fight it...
It's not being waged on the battlefields of Ashcanistan or I-wreck. It is being fought in the minds of the political elite, and both parties being slightly smarter than a slime mold (but better dressed!), they have arrived at this fight completely unarmed.
The central point in the War on Terror is the mindset of the people who will formulate and enact The Policy by which that war will be fought. In order to make the proper decisions that will become The Policy, and ultimately The Strategy, the people making them will have to recognize certain facts:
a. The Enemy is unrelenting.
b. The Enemy is part of an identifiable group.
c. The Enemy operates on a different wavelength and by different rules than we do.
d. The Enemy is not interested in making a deal, he's not interested in anything we can offer him.
e. The Enemy considers negotiation and conciliation as forms of weakness, unless it helps him to achieve his goal, then the good-feeling this engenders in his opponent is simply another weapon at his disposal.
f. The Enemy's Goal is World Domination, defined as the ultimate ascendancy of his religion and culture, culminating in the reduction to all those outside this scope to a position of semi-slavery with few, if any, legal or natural rights.
g. The Enemy is willing to do almost anything to achieve these goals, his philosophy having elevated those goals from mere political aims to the route towards personal salvation.
h. The Enemy has been in a state of Undeclared War with the United States since 1979.
i. The Enemy believes it's victory is pre-ordained and inevitable.
j. The Enemy is merciless and pitiless, and has no regard for the humanity of his opponents.
That is the reality of Militant Islam, and the Islamonazi political regime that comes with it. That is the kind of foe we're supposed to be fighting; implacable, pitiless, single-minded, undistracted by abstract thoughts of justice, fairness or decency. He is armed to the teeth, and has a billion potential soldiers at his command. He lives by a strict code of religious discipline, and routinely clears his ranks of shirkers and traitors by means of murder. He holds his host culture hostage with a climate of fear, religious orthodoxy and systematic violence, which he claims is his ancestral right either handed down from God, or magically bestowed upon his as a legacy of (pick one or more) racism, religious discrimination, colonialism, economic exploitation, etc, etc, etc.
The response and policies of both major political opponents, viewed against these realities, leave much to be desired, and in fact, seem woefully inadequate to meet the challenge of people willing to ran airliners into office buildings, tape high explosives to their groin, or indiscriminately launch unguided rockets into residential neighborhoods.
And the reason is because the political leadership of this country, Repub or Dem, is too frightened or stupid, to tell itself the Truth about The Enemy. Because they fail to see what's so obviously plain, their policies and pronouncements, their actions and rhetoric, are divorced from reality. In the meantime, American troops pay the price with their limbs and lives. Americans pay more for their energy, more in taxes, and make ever-more personal sacrifices in order to support the War/NotWar, and have to deal with a government who's response to terrorism is to prevent blankets from being handed out, keep nail clippers off aircraft, and restrict the use of rest rooms.
Liberals (and I'm using the term loosely, because they really aren't) see the problem of terrorism in terms of law enforcement and social welfare. They do not see The Enemy as some sort of robotic, inhuman force driven by a rabid ideology, it views him through the same lens it applies to all problems. All problems, in the liberal world, can be solved by talking and symbolism, because ultimately, all issues arise from a lack of tolerance and a dearth of 'resources' -- it would rather perform 'social outreach' (Obama's "Open hand/Clenched fist"), and get to the "root causes" of the problem (Obama's Apologies to Islam for Western Civilizations very existence and intolerance), then open a "dialogue" with them (Negotiate with Admini-doo-dad without pre-conditions), and then negotiate "terms" (Discuss the size of the bribe required for "peace"). Liberalism would rather talk, and then attach a symbolic value to that talk which is of no real value, presuming that if Obama (for example) met face-to-face with Ama-dada-doo-dad that somehow gives the Iranians a feeling that we respect them as equals, and that having been satisfied with the illusion of equality, they'll be ready to cave to our other demands, they being reasonable chaps and all that. It absolves them of the Guilt they feel when they recognize that other people are making sacrifices they don't have the courage or intelligence to make themselves.
It's an extension of the "There are no truly Bad Boys..." argument; if you talk to the Islamic Radicals, show them some respect, get down on their level, and perhaps provide them with Midnight Basketball, they won't turn into cold-blooded killers. It's like watching your middle-aged dad try to relate to your teenaged friends; he starts calling everyone "Dog", pretends an interest in rap music, tries to fit in and "be hip", high-fives everyone, and he doesn't realize how ridiculous he looks, or how embarrassing it is for you.
When that strategy fails, they always fall back on the police. Liberals, despite their protests to the contrary, actually love the power of the police...when it's used in ways they want it to be. The greatest danger to American Society in the last 20 years was not, as Libs would have you believe, John Ashcroft armed with the Patriot Act --it would have been Hillary Clinton similarly equipped.
So, when talk fails, law enforcement suddenly becomes the only answer. To everything; Can't control handguns because of the pesky Second Amendment? Law enforcement is the answer! Can't fix the social problems created by bastardy, drug abuse and rampant street crime that were a result of Liberal policies in the first place? Law enforcement is the answer! Even when law enforcement isn't the answer, it's the answer -- as when Obama went to Columbus (I think) to pose in front of 25 new police officers whose jobs were "saved" by the Stimulus Bill...But I digress.
Law Enforcement must now protect us after the magical powers of talk and symbolism have failed. However, law enforcement must do it's job handcuffed by conditions the Liberal insist upon; you can't profile (that's racist), you can't treat terrorists like terrorists and prosecute them as such (lawyers solve all problems), you can't make mention of a certain religion or ethnicity (because that might make them feel persecuted), you aren't allowed to kill the enemy on the battlefield until you can prove with (incontrovertible evidence) that he is about to kill you.
This is why Obama (and before him Clinton and Carter, to be fair) cannot come to grips with the problem of terrorism. It's why the Liberal Elite have railed against the War on Terror since it's inception (even while cynically voting for the money to prosecute the War, the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, voting for the Patriot Act and all the rest -- they were all symbolic, and politically-necessary, votes). Libs would rather talk than fight, and then when talking fails, pass the buck. They ultimately end up punishing the innocent while putting up yet one obstacle to bringing the guilty to heel.
On the other side, Republicans are laboring under the mistaken impression that "everyone is basically the same, underneath it all" which is kinda strange, since it's Liberals who insist on the truthfulness of that statement -- while they accuse Republicans of being racists, elitists and exclusionary.
In this case, they don't actually believe everyone is "the same" in terms of people having equal talents, capacities, needs, etc. Instead, they believe that all people have a fundamental yearning that makes them "the same", and that yearning is for "Freedom"(always defined in strictly-American terms) and that all one must to do is to "give people Freedom" and there is some human instinct that automatically 'knows' what that means -- and then it automatically follows that people unversed in the 4,000 year-old philosophies of democracy, free-market economics and political/religious pluralism will quickly accept them, and adapt their culture to accommodate them.
That this "bringing Freedom to those who yearn for it" must be accomplished at gunpoint, under the conditions and mentality of War, doesn't seem to occur to those who believe that "Inside every Afghan/Iraqi/Iranian/Radical Muslim is an American just dying to get out..." is telling. It means that they don't fundamentally understand the historical, philosophical and social conditions and processes which have resulted in their own "Freedom", and almost reduces the whole concept to the process to that by which you install software on your PC -- you simply put the disk in and the host system (in this case, culture) simply "knows" what to do with it once it's introduced. It allows them to frame the whole War on Terror as some Noble Crusade that is, ultimately, for everyone's benefit. It makes them feel better about risking (other people's) lives and cash.
Both, in their own ways, see Man as some sort of reasonable creature who knows where his bread is buttered, and which actually believes in concepts such as equality and peace.
It's why one side will insist on open-ended commitments of American blood and treasure trying to redeem the seemingly irredeemable, and the other will seek to delay the inevitable bloodshed by the process of holistic politics. Because the alternatives, being wrong (for Conservatives) and all-out War (for Liberals) are unthinkable to either, and so are the consequences.
If anyone in power today actually knew anything about history (something which is hardly studied honestly anymore) they would recognize that the Radical Islamists are no better, and in some cases infinitely worse, than the Nazis, the Soviet Communists or the Japanese Militarists.
Defeating those enemies required realism, it required great violence, and the expenditure of much blood, iron and treasure with the goal of laying them utterly low. This Islamic Enemy will only be defeated by the same means. They cannot be "reformed" until they have been defeated in unmistakable terms, which means the destruction of their culture by overwhelming force and great suffering, wherein it will become apparent to The Enemy that whatever he hopes to achieve is impossible, and that whatever he believes is a false system that cannot achieve his goals.
Nazi Germany had to be bombed flat and defeated militarily on two continents before Germans finally lost faith in National Socialism and surrendered. Japan had to be starved, terrorized and threatened with nuclear holocaust before the Japanese began to see that they weren't a divine people imbued with a natural right to conquest and Empire. Soviet Communism had to be bankrupted before it was seen as being unable to provide the standard of living that it promised to it's people, and which Capitalism did. The same needs to be done to Islamonazis.
They need to be reduced to the level of drinking out of mud puddles and picking the undigested thistles from camel dung before they begin to realize that, perhaps, all this stuff they're busily committing suicide for is not exactly the best way of life. It is only through abject misery that people begin to question their fundamental beliefs. One side won't inflict that misery, and the other will only inflict it up to a certain point, beyond that, neither is willing to go.
And that's why any War on Terror, any regime of Airport Security, no number of Patriot Acts and Guantanamo Bays, no negotiations, bribes or concessions, will ever solve the problem of Islamic Terrorism. Doing so requires great violence of the "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" type that both find barbaric. In the meantime, one will fight a public-relations campaign with guns to no definite end, and the other will be talking it's ass off and offering your virgin daughters up to the barbarians in order to avoid violence, and achieving even less.
Discuss.

Stuff You May Have Missed...
Here's some things that I thought was worth reading while I was away.
A Trio of Mark Steyn on Health Care, The Christmas Bomber, and the (fortunate) Disaster of Copenhagen.
Then there was this from the Washington Times, which confirms about Barack Obama what you've probably always thought. The guy's a dweeb. In an expensive suit. Oh, and a very unpopular dweeb internationally, at that. Guess that Smart Diplomacy of rolling over and taking it is really getting us friends and influencing people? When world leaders go through that much trouble to simply avoid you, you know you're in trouble.

Strengthening the Old Alliances...
The Age of Obama was supposed to be one of 'smart diplomacy' aimed at 'strengthening our old alliances'.
Until it wasn't. That was really just yet another rhetorical club used to clobber GWB over the head during the campaign.
The reality ever since has been a foreign policy that is frenetic, apparently driven by polls and personalities, untethered from reality, sluggish and disorganized, the landscape polluted by unearned Nobel Prizes, joke 'reset' buttons, Outing as a criminal-- and then publicly backing --Hamid Karzai, Iranian intransigence over it's nuclear program, Chinese lecturing America's President on the finer points of capitalism, North Korean laughter at the Kid with Big Ears.
But, at least there's been the photo ops. Anytime you can photograph Obama at least looking Presidential, he considers it a victory of sorts.
And speaking of unearned Nobel Prizes, it seems the President intends to be ungracious to the Norwegians when accepts the prize.
Ask Tiger Woods what happens when you piss a Scandinavian off, Mr. President.
The British, perhaps our most important allies, haven't been feeling the love for some time. Obama has treated Gordon Brown, the British Prime Minister, as if he were the 'special' cousin your family kept hidden in the attic. Anglo-American relations are at an all-time low, so much so, that Obama has pulled off the near-impossible, and has both the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail pissed off at him. Way to go! And they said George Bush was the clueless one?
Someone is in way over his head and doesn't know it yet. Unfortunately, the enemies of the West and of all decent people know it all too well.

I Wanted to Puke...
Despite my best efforts to avoid it, I have been exposed to what President Numbnuts had to say t the Useless Nations....err...United Nations today.
I have never been sicker in my life.
I was only half-listening, admittedly, because the image of the abused wife crept into my head and would not go away.
There She is, with blackened eyes and broken teeth, a flattened nose and pouchy cheeks, still asking, nay begging Him to take her back. Protesting her love and devotion despite a bloody nose, apologizing for everything from having burnt the Rice-A-Roni to the sky being a certain shade of blue. If only she could truly make Him see how much She loves Him, She thinks, He will.
President Odickhead was just that pathetic today. I'm surprised that he didn't accept responsibility for American complicity in the existence of Typhoid, Bubonic plague, and Pop Tarts.
And even though Pop Tarts are pretty good, he'd still find a reason to apologize for them being full of icky sugar, mass-produced in smoke-belching factories staffed by little pink elves earning slave's wages.
That's when it wasn't all about Him, of course.
Yeah, he's closed Gitmo. He's ending the War in Iraq. He's fighting the 'good' fight on global warming. Only a matter of time before he claims credit for the Internet, too, just like another self-possessed moron we're all familiar with.
But at least Khaddafi showed up and provided some comic relief.

Hillary is Shut Out....Again.
Governor of New Mexico, Former UN Ambassador and current potential felon Bill Richardson is to host a meeting this week with two North Korean diplomats aimed at restarting the moribund "Six Party Talks". These talks involving the US, North and South Korea, China, Russia and Japan, are supposed to, somehow, keep the Norks from developing really big boom-booms of the nuclear type.
I have every confidence this round of polite diplomatic crapspeak will be very bit as effective as the last, oh...ten years of diplomatic crapspeak and Madeleine Albright Korean folk-dancing was. Richardson was on the boob tube this morning saying that identifying the North Koreans as junior members of the "Axis of Evil" all but guaranteed they would push forward with their nuclear ambitions. He plans to be "nice" to them -- in the hopes that those batshit-crazy totalitarians will suddenly have some sort of epiphany. They're not "evil", you see, they're just misunderstood and insulted. We owe them an apology, according to the therapeutic foreign policy types.
Whatever Richardson does, it'll only be a continuation of what Bill Clinton started back in the 90's (a regime of open appeasement and bribery of North Korea), and which he recently reprised in the whole rescue of two of Al Gore's zombie legion. All Richardson will be is a different intermediary; the bribe will always be the same. North Korea wishes to look as if it's a legitimate country ruled by a legitimate regime. I can promise you that absolutely NO agreements, treaties or adjustment of the North Korean position on nuclear weapons will result from this meeting. The North won't come to negotiate -- they're coming to be pampered and flattered in front of the cameras for the folks back in Pyongyang.
So, why isn't Hillary hosting this meeting? Isn't she the Secretary of State? Aren't all things diplomatic and international her bailiwick? I wonder who else is on the Obama foreign policy roster, waiting for their turn to once more appear relevant and important at the expense of Hillary Clinton? Madeleine Albright? Warren Christopher? Do we dare dream and ask Jimmy Carter?
The woman finally got, as Dick Morris put it "the first real job of her life", only she's not allowed to actually do anything. She's getting the mushroom treatment: being kept in the dark and fed a steady diet of horseshit.
I really hate to defend Hillary Clinton because, frankly, she's another in a long line of democratic party succubi (i.e. Clinton, Boxer, Pelosi and so forth) sent forth to frighten the male population shitless with their gruesome visages, over-active mouths that screech and spit venomous gender-based liberal boilerplate , not to mention that once menopause hits these broads it then appears to take up permanent residence -- giving them the ability to make any man watching or listening to them constrict his sphincter while praying that "it will just go away" and the pain will subside. But I digress...
I hate to defend Hillary, but if I were her I'd start opening my cavernous pie-hole and start protesting that I'm not being allowed to do my job. I'd then scream about being discriminated against, and I'd start a mini-revolution within the democratic party; Aging-Lesbian-60's-retread-Feminazis-versus-the Hopenchanger-Metrosexual-Patriarchy.
You've come a long way, Baby? I'd tell you to burn your bra in protest, but I don't think I could survive the sight of that.
I'm telling you; the Obamatards are deliberately keeping this woman away from anything that even has a whiff of achievement or success attached to it so that she cannot be a viable challenger in 2012. Why is it that when Progressives abuse women in this fashion (Hillary is being politically abused, and has been for the last year) there is deafening silence from the Left?
Oh right...Hypocrisy is a crime only Conservatives can be guilty of.

Hillary's Menstrual Moment...
Poor Hillary Clinton. I'm shocked at myself for even writing that, believe me.
YouTube video: here.
The Secretary of State snaps at a translator who miscombobulated a question from an African student, and lets loose with a tirade about her husband, that Rock-of-Matrimonial-Gibraltar, and all-around swell guy. The explosion was all about Hillary: I'm the Secretary of State! My Husband is nobody! Who cares what he thinks?
Her "spokespeople" said she was just jet-lagged. Tired and shagged out after a prolonged squawk, as it were. I think the cracks are showing. Her husband's new-found respectability and gravitas for having "rescued" two journalists from Kim Il-Jong, notwithstanding. Hillary has finally discovered what those of us who could walk and chew gum at the same time already knew when she was nominated for this job:
She was only offered it so that she'd be out of the Senate. Obama couldn't keep her there, with the ability to affect, or even speak against, his policies. Better to make her a Cabinet Member, with no legislative pull, no policy juice, and no real power...but who can then be fired (it will be dressed up as "The President asked for her Resignation) when convenient. Whenever anything really important on the diplomatic front needs to be accomplished, President Obama will probably work through other democratic party foreign-policy bigwigs...like Bill Clinton, or god help us, Jimmy Carter...and Hillary will be kept out of the loop. The precedent has been set.
I don't blame her for being pissed. But when you're stupid and greedy enough to give up a Senate Seat to be in the cabinet of a political parvenu, you have to live with your decisions. Did you really think that you were going to lend gravitas and an adult appearance to the Obama Circus by your presence in the Cabinet? Were you really naive enough to believe that "Secretary of State" to a President whose foreign policy seems to consist of begging every tin-pot shithead dictator's forgiveness for the sin of being American, and then offering his asshole for their carnal pleasure would be a great launching point for another Presidential Run?
More fool you. You got played, Baby. I almost pity you...except that your own ambition helped lead you here.
Poor Hillary will have to console herself with this set of facts: she'll get to go to all the quaint little diplomatic photo ops, and Potemkin displays, she'll get all the perks of her office, but she'll never, ever get to accomplish anything of note. If she ever appears to be on the cusp of accomplishing anything, she will be fired. The entire thing is engineered to ensure that come 2012, she will still have an empty resume.
And that was the plan all along

Reason #3,105 Why Your President is an Asshole...
Unilateral disarmament is basically what it amounts to.
I found it rather strange that President YesWeCan can go to Russia to talk about nuclear arms, and apparently the words "Iran" and "North Korea" never even get mentioned. What DOES get mentioned is something about the United States reducing the number of it's own warheads and launchers, and oh, we'll not expand our missile defense systems, which a) work and b) are needed now that North Korea is flinging missiles around the Western Pacific.
Good 'ol Hopenchanger, in full 1970's NoNukes dudgeon, apparently has forgotten what decade he lives in. Just before his trip, someone dug up an old essay of Obambi's from his Columbia Dayz, a rambling bit of hippie-speak about the total elimination of nuclear weapons, flower power, and the healing qualities of crystals when the moon is in the fifth house of Aquarius. We can assume he still thinks this way, and that this is the cornerstone of his nuclear arms policy because he basically gave up the farm in Moscow, and got not one iota of help in the fight against proliferation, while ensuring that Europe is now naked in the shadow of Russian nuclear power.
I'm sure we'll be sold this crap as another significant step on the way to world peace, yet one more way in which the United States can improve it's world image. Like kind of crap actually matters. We live in a dangerous world, with other states who possess such weapons, many of which are hostile to us either because of who we are, or what we represent. No amount of playing nice, no amount of bribery, no amount of marketing, is ever going to change that. A deterrent is necessary to keep those people from deciding that we're a soft mark (although with Obama in charge, that's a very hard front to maintain) and doing us harm.
Even the Brits have taken notice of how Obama is rushing headlong into disarmament. If the British have noticed, you know it must be obvious.

Yet MORE 'Smart Diplomacy'...
If you really wish to cut Federal Spending in this day and age, might I suggest that you start with the State Department? They apparently aren't doing anything; they don't have anyone around who can spell 'Reset' in Russian. They don't seem to have anyone who can tell President Hopenchanger who his French counterpart is. Yesterday, it seemed as if no one was available to tell the President "don't insult the Russians when you go over there. They get testy".
And now, for want of that sort of Civil Servant -- the one who can actually chew gum and walk at the same time -- the President of the United States kicked his Russian hosts square in the balls with a single sentence. You can read it here.
Money Quote:
"Bottom line: The guy is a smooth-talking ignoramus: not all that smart, not well-read, with a wafer-thin resume. "

Reason #2506 Why Your President is an Asshole...Smart Diplomacy.
This was supposed to be the administration which was going to restore and strengthen America's old alliances. It was going to extend the hand of friendship to old adversaries, and make America liked and respected around the world again. The Adults, we were assured, would be back in charge of foreign policy, armed with a new brand of "smart diplomacy".
Guess not.
In the 60 days that Obambi has been in office he has:
* Given an interview on Arab television which was widely panned, and denounced as a sign of weakness.
*Basically told Moscow we won't build a missile defense system, giving Russia the green-light to bully Eastern Europe, and taking away any incentive they may have had for helping us prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons.
* Told Israel to basically go fuck itself by committing $1 billion American dollars (that we could use here, because the guys at Citigroup didn't get their bonuses yet) to help rebuild the Palestinian territories destroyed by Israel in the latest skirmish. A skirmish caused by the Palestinian hobbies of lobbing explosive rockets and mortar shells into Israeli settlements, and walking into crowded areas, like shopping malls or public transport, while wearing TNT boxer shorts for the express purpose of blowing themselves up.
* Sent a YouTube Message to the people of Iran, which the Mullahs and the kook they call president responded to with derision, and a promise to complete building a nuclear reactor (which may produce fissile material) by the end of the year. Not only that, but he offers a holiday greeting in Farsi (I guess so he can look cool, and you know, relate to the ragheads), forgetting that there's a tin-foil-hat wearing minority in this country who believes he's really a Muslim Manchurian Candidate, and who will say that proves it!
* Insulted the British Prime Minister and people by treating him in a most disrespectful fashion, denying him even the most basic amenities that a visiting head of state has come to expect from a visit with the President, sending back a gift which was given to us at a time when the British wished to express unity with the American people, and then sent Gordon Brown home with extremely cheap and thoughtless gifts which the man can't even use.
* Sent the Secretary of State to China to beg for continued financing of the US National Debt, while all-but-signalling an American willingness to forget all about human rights issues. The Chinese government (the Communist Chinese government!) responded by lecturing the President on economics and capitalism. Not long afterwards, Chinese boats started messing with unarmed US Naval vessels in international waters, letting Joe Biden know that he was right; Not only will the world test this douche bag, they intend to feed him a steady diet of wedgies, Wet Willies and Noogies, knowing he won't and can't do a damned thing about them.
* The Secretary of State shows up in Moscow with a gag-gift which is not only completely puerile and unfunny, but which contains a misspelling so egregious that it begins to look like the there's not a single person in the State Department that speaks Russian anymore. I could have Googled the Russian word for "Reset" better!
That's just to start. Now we have this:
Obama Upsets Sarkozy With Letter to Jacques Chirac. (H/T to Gatewaypundit.)
Apparently, not only is there a dearth of Russian speakers-an'-Googlers in the State Department, but they can't even tell Ol' President YesWeCan who the President of France is! You know, France? Our oldest ally. I'm telling you, the level of incompetence in this administration is appalling, and the excuse that it's only 60 days in, doesn't wash; we're talking about matters of common sense and detail here. The results to date do not point to a restoration or strengthening of America's alliances, nor does it bode well for peace in the world.
This Dude is in waaaaaaay over his head.

Reasons Why Your President is an Asshole incapable of Leading a Three-Year Old to the Crapper...
A round up of articles as to why President Obambi is such a wreck:
1. He's tired and needs a cigarette - From the Telegraph in the UK. Please note the really special sentiment expressed by an Obamacon that Britain is no better than Zimbabwe. That's not a quote, but that's what they guy meant.
2. He's Incompetent - From HotAir.com. Well, it's not as if we were allowed to see his resume or question him before he got elected, was it?
3. He Doesn't Give a Shit - From Commentary, the unique point of view that pretty much surmises that the man just wanted the title, but not the work.
4. He's got Personal Scores to Settle - The New York Daily news reports on an Enemies List. The man's been in office less than 50 days, and he's already become Nixon in a better suit.
5. He's too busy to govern because he's got this surrender to plan - AP says 12,000 out of Iraq by the Summer, and this Indian Newspaper says the President is already trying to work out the surrender of Afghanistan to Taliban "moderates". In my opinion, the words 'moderate' and 'Taliban' are mutually-exclusive.

Not Ready for Prime Time...
Oh, you people suck! You've really done it now! You've pissed off the Brits! The British Prime Minister came to pay his respects and was given a foretaste of what Obama's AmeriKKKa will soon look like; listless, unenthusiastic, disinterested, worn out, ungracious -- and dare I say it? --niggardly with it's bounty (save the nasty e-mails, look the word up).
The Administration sent a head of state, who came bearing great gifts, home with a box of DVD's and some kitsch from the White House Gift Shop, and probably a year's supply of Rice-a-Roni, as if he were the second-place contestant on Jeopardy or something. This incidentally is the White House that wants to revamp health care in this country -- if this is how they manage a simple matter of manners, taste and graciousness with one of America's oldest allies (and by the way, wasn't Obama supposed to mend the Old Alliances and not insult the Europeans like Bush had?), they certainly can't be expected to craft a health care system that treats an individual as anything other than a number, a slab of meat, and an inconvenience.
And let's not even get started on Sec. of State Clinton's behavior in the realm of diplomacy; begging the Chinese to buy American debt, insulting the Europeans and lecturing them on the history of democracy (which she got wrong, incidentally), and providing the Russian President with what was obviously intended to be a gag gift with a poor translation. Then there's the Letter to the Russians which, apparently, doesn't exist. Yep, I'm so glad the A-Team is up to the task of serious diplomacy.
Considering that we've all been told by our betters in the My-Leg-Is-Tingling media about just how extraordinarily cool and classy Obama (and his loudmouth wife) are supposed to be, one would have expected more. Of course, the White House, once it's mistakes were pointed out, was quick to blame someone or something else (the Prez is tired, some anonymous staffer did it, we're in transition here and not up to speed on diplomacy, etc.). If they could have blamed Bush they would have. But the real culprit here is Obama himself.
He's not ready. He never was. I don't think he ever expected this job to mean actual work. I don't think he's involved...at all. I think he's overwhelmed, and is more than happy to delegate and then dodge responsibility for following up. I think he's far too busy trying to enjoy the perks of the Presidency (Air Force One had gotten quite a work out, so far. Camp David, I assume, is next), or reliving his historic campaign to take any of his responsibilities seriously. The man is out to lunch and out of his league...and doesn't seem to notice or care. It's painfully obvious.
I mean, look at the record of unbridled success to date:
Obama's Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is clueless. The economy is in free-fall, and Obama doesn't even address it, except to say it's bad and getting worse. This Treasury Secretary (the one we were told we just had to have, despite his criminal behavior) gets laughed out of every meeting he attends, and he apparently can't even pay people enough to take what otherwise would be plum jobs at Treasury. Tax policy is divorced from economic reality. Yet other than the daily rote denunciation of 'The Rich' and some more talking down expectations on the as-yet-unseeable recovery, the President doesn't even address the root causes of the crisis, nor does he seem to have a handle on how to actually begin recovery realistically. So far, all he's done is promise to spend more ($20 trillion!) in the next four years than the government can actually collect. Never mind $250,000 incomes -- look out $22,500! I mean, you have to be some kind of imbecile to go to Columbus, Ohio to trumpet the fact that your 'stimulus bill' paid for 25 police officers (that's 25 government jobs, btw) on the same day the Department of Labor reports 621,000 more Americans got pink slips. Some success, huh? Yeah, Obama's team is buncha freakin' economic geniuses!
Look at the Porkulus bill! Look at this Omnibus spending bill! The President says he'll go through it 'line-by-line' to eliminate waste! Bullshit. He can't be bothered to govern (that's like, hard) and he's too busy to have someone look in on Reid and Pelosi, and so we get bills that he's forced to sign and then cheer lead for just to present the appearance of doing 'something'. He's turned the agenda over to the Speaker and the Senate Majority Leader, they will now set policy and Obama will just rubber stamp it. They've rolled him, and he hasn't even recognized it yet. And so far, the only 'waste' Obama seems to have found is a paltry 40 billion in Pentagon cost overruns. Considering how much he plans to spend, this is like finding loose change in the sofa cushions.
So far, five potential cabinet members or other high-level appointees all seem to be tax cheats, or involved in some sort of alleged criminal activities; Richardson, Geithner, Kirk, Gillifer, Solis. These are only the ones we know about. That their names even came up, or that any of them actually got a job despite the notoriety, shows you something about the man's character; he can't even be counted upon to even maintain a charade of propriety.
And anyone who would put Joe Biden in charge of anything needs his head examined.
And we were told that Sarah Palin was not ready for prime time? At least she would have knitted the Prime Minister something.
Oh, you people suck! You've really done it now! You've pissed off the Brits!
