It's a lesson we seem to have forgotten in these here United States. I mean, after almost 80 years of New Dealism, Great Societism, and a host of Wars on everything from Drugs to Common Sense, Americans have become accustomed to creeping government -- empowered to 'do something' by it's own citizenry who keeps voting for complete self-interested douchebags -- taking a more active role in their lives, personal security, and nowadays, even their healthcare.

One aspect of the upcoming Presidential election that has received little attention is the subject of the Supreme Court.

And why shouldn't this topic be getting short shrift? After all, we'd apparently rather argue over who has released more tax returns, or at least that's what your Obamaniac American Press would have you believe really counts, notwithstanding the debate over whether this or that act of Muslim fundaMENTAList murder is terrorism or not, our government deciding to harass and censor a citizen to appease the Arab Street, or celebrating yet another successful Obamatard appearance on Letterman. We're kinda busy, you know, debating the important stuff, and the Supreme Court is about 10,546th on our list.

Or at least it's that low on the media's list.

A very good article on the nature of Freedom, which I found quite interesting. It's a bit thick to read, but well worth the effort. The CIA should show what it's finding on the laptops of these degenerate killers that they capture: the donkey sex, the rape videos, the degenerate sexual predilections of a mentally-stunted culture; show the world what the "radical" Islamists are really like, and what they really stand for. Make them objects of world-wide ridicule instead of fear...and then kill them.

I'm getting sick and tired of a "War on Terror" that's really short on War, and weighed down by Political Correctness and the need to make nice for the television cameras. These people murdered 3,000 Americans and celebrated it as an act of God; they deserve to die.

Just the other day, Al'Qaeda, by whatever means they make these things known, announced that it was no longer interested in pulling off really big terrorist attacks, but will instead concentrate on inflicting a Death of a Thousand Cuts on America, and you know what? They're probably succeeding.

After all, think about it: what has happened since 9/11? Has there been a battlefield victory that hasn't been transitory, or compromised by politics?

What has our own government done to "protect" us from future terrorist acts? They've made it impossible to fly, for one thing; if you aren't delayed, harassed, and aggravated by the need to be at an airport four hours before your 2-hour flight, subjected to lengthy questioning by a federalized high-school dropout, have your luggage scanned or searched by federalized thieves, then you can look forward to no food on the flight, full body x-rays, intrusive (and illegal) pat-downs without probable cause, and soon to come, mandatory cavity searches.

We're harassing children, pregnant mothers, the elderly and infirm on airport "security" lines; we're making nursing mothers drink their own breast milk. We're subjecting old ladies in wheelchairs to physical searches. We're taking away cigarette lighters from smokers. We're even harassing pilots and flight crews, just so we don't offend Muslims! Heaven forbid we start patting down Middle-Eastern men and the walking carpets they call wives.

The government has made it more difficult and expensive for Americans to maintain and renew their required documents: passports, driver's licenses, Social Security Cards, State Identification cards, so that they aren't abused by terrorists-- but then demands that Americans produce these valid identification documents whenever they travel, apply for a job, or are confronted by law enforcement.

Unless you're Mexican...then we somehow shouldn't bother to ask you for these difficult-to-obtain-and-required-to-work documents in Arizona because that would be racist or something.

Illegal aliens, whether Mexican or Islamic, are being legally and institutionally protected by the government. The price for that? Your girlfriend gets felt up, and you have to take your shoes off every five feet at the airport.

Look around you: your civil rights have been steadily eroded under the guise of "security" (and yet, the government takes great pains to ensure that the "rights" of terrorists are scrupulously protected). Your freedom of movement has been seriously infringed upon by the need to undergo lengthy and degrading "security measures" which do little more than raise the cost of taking a commercial flight. None of it has found a single terrorist, or prevented a single attempted attack.

The Underwear Bomber was on a No Fly list. His own father had turned him in to the authorities, and he still almost managed to bring a plane down over Detroit. It was his fellow passengers (all of them, apparently security-screened much better than he), and his own incompetence that "caught" him. What is the government doing with all this data it collects, all this "intelligence" it spends enormous resources to acquire, if it can't keep a guy -- whose address they have beforehand -- off a plane? A few weeks ago, terrorists tried to blow up cargo aircraft using crude bombs hidden in printer cartridges; in a another few weeks, there will be an entire new regime of"security" procedures for you to follow when sending a Fed-Ex package that will cost you more money, cause you more aggravation, and inconvenience the hell out of you.

I hate to say it, but Al'Qaeda probably is winning. Worse, they're winning without having to do very much; our own government-- and our own stupidity -- has helped them destroy our rights and freedoms, bit-by-bit. Every threat or minor action brings an overwhelming (and usually misdirected, or completely stupid) response from the government that has long-lasting and deleterious effects upon our citizens. If you're a democrat, you love these things because they simply get people used, by degrees, to living in a Police State that you all secretly cream for,and if you're a republican, you love this shit because one of your cronies is probably scooping up a federal contract somewhere, but if you're the average citizen, your world is shrinking along with your rights. And you're paying for the privilege of being deprived of them.

What's left of Al'Qaeda is probably sitting in a cave laughing their asses off. Why fight the Infidel when you can let him fight and destroy himself, right?

Oh, and make sure you get a government grant, while you're at it.

It's about time we started taking this War seriously, in the sense that it's less about the Airport "Security" Kabuki, and the "Hearts-and-Minds-With-Guns" campaign overseas. It's time for the American people to demand that their enemies be destroyed, and with them, the entire reign of terror disguised as a security regime. Those people groping their fellow citizens in search of weapons are the same douchebags who let 9/11 happen, after all; they're just better paid and unionized now.

A Ground Zero Mosque paid for by the American Taxpayer would be just one more of those thousand cuts, perhaps the most symbolic of all, which is exactly why that Mosque should never be built in the first place, and the assholes who started this projects (and supported it) should be taken out and shot...on Pay-Per-View.

There will be no "Peace and Understanding" until everything that reads or follows the Koran is dead, or reduced to a mass of quivering jelly too frightened to lift so much as an eyebrow at the West, let alone a weapon.

When someone finally does get around to providing some oversight, it's usually too late, and the money has disappeared.

I Believe They Call it "Having Balls"...

This past week on My Island, a young Mexican man was subjected to a beating at the hands of four or five...ahem...Urban Youths, who shouted racial slurs, and robbed him of $10. It was, we're told, just the latest in a series of such attacks against Mexicans in recent months.

According to the local papers, the people in the neighborhood were, naturally, saddened and shocked...shocked...that such a terrible thing could happen in their neighborhood -- people who live in borderline-slums are somehow always shocked...go figure -- despite the fact that the neighborhood is often crawling with gun-toting, drug-dealing, gang-banging...ahem...Urban Youths...with little education, guidance from adults, or brains. The few whites who still live in Port Richmond are the last holdouts; like at Fort Apache. They are mostly working-class, or retired, who have been in the neighborhood for generations, or have no place else to go, and who remember a more romantic past before demographics and economics changed reality, but stay in the expectation that things will magically return to 1955 -- if you just wait around long enough.

The few remaining whites in Port Richmond should stop living in the past and take a good look around them; they couldn't get any more Third World if they had been dropped bodily in Zimbabwe. I'm surprised that most of them haven't realized they're basically one flush-toilet away from Bangladesh in some of these neighborhoods....except with aluminum siding.

By all accounts, the victim is a fucking saint. Described as a "good kid", "hard worker", and a student, who naturally, volunteered all his spare time with a local church anti-bias youth group. His immigration status is never mentioned --nor even hinted at -- in any news report. We're told that he wouldn't hurt a fly. Some in the...err...Recipient Class have already repeated the tired mantra that The Diversity are incapable of racism because they "have no political or economic power".

Yeah, Barack Obama is still pushing that one, too, and it still doesn't make any sense.

Maybe you have no Power because those who were supposed to even the playing field are now busy being investigated for all sorts of Ethics Violations, and potential criminal wrongdoing -- and you know who you are Charlies Rangel, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, and Jesse Jackson Jr, amongst others. But that's a whole 'nother can o' worms.

What has really upset people in these parts was not so much that a bias crime took place against a minority that, if you believe the Mainstream Media, is suffering under a new-fangled Tea-Party-imposed Fourth Reich; the problem for most has been the response -- many would say, over-reaction -- of the so-called authorities.

The NYPD arrived on the scene of the attack in force. The NYPD has stayed in the neighborhood, in large numbers, even posting guards on the victim's home, and erecting portable watchtowers on his block. In effect, basically fortifying the street against another wave of knuckle-headed Urban Youth looking to put an ass-whippin' on another Mexican Boy. The only things missing are the bastions, barbed wire and the minefields.

The NYPD is great, the best there are, and make no mistake about it, but in these parts you don't get more than two cops to show up in the same place, at the same time, unless one of them has been shot, or Dunkin' Donuts just got the new batch of Boston Cremes out of the oven. To have a small army of police show up for what is, basically, a $10 mugging, smells of politics. To have them stay to guard the victim of a $10 mugging is nothing BUT politics.

But, just in case you thought the over-reaction couldn't get any worse, there's more. Courtesy, not of Der Fuhrer, Mayor Micheal Bloomberg, but of the the Mexican Government.

The Mexican Government has sent a representative to help the NYPD "co-ordinate" it's efforts to prevent bias crimes against it's citizens, and to encourage Mexican Nationals to come forward to report all manner of bias, be it real, imagined, or ginned-up for the purposes of extorting money and benefits from the City Government, and by extension, the U.S. Government. It should only be a day or two before Mexican Nationals living in the United States illegally will be complaining that the City of Nueva Jork doesn't provide enough food stamps to properly feed a "family" of 13 young men living on a pile of mattresses in an illegal basement rental. I can't wait until the Mexican Government "suggests" that Staten Island is a sink of racism, and that the remedy should be blanket Amnesty throughout the United States.

Naturally, the question "If the Mexican Government really cares that much about these people, then why are they HERE and not IN MEXICO?" has not been asked by any of our crackerjack press outlets or elected officials, who are apparently appalled at the shoddy treatment afforded the victim of an every-day street crime at the hands of a professional criminal class living on the government-and-media maintained mental Plantation. Talk about cojones? I'm wondering if the Mexican Government would allow the United States to set up a similar advocate for Americans living illegally in Mexico? I'm guessing the answer to that is not only "NO", but "FUCK NO", and besides, Mexico doesn't even have FOOD, let alone Food Stamps. It should maybe be noted that both the victim and his assailants are most likely living, in part, on some form of public assistance, and the significance of this will -- naturally -- be totally and completely missed by the politicos and fart-sniffing-lefties who -- they think -- run this city.

They're wrong; they don't run it at all. The Inmates Run the Asylum here, and this incident is just one more bit of evidence, in case you may have thought otherwise.

If a White Guy had been robbed of $10 by a bunch of Bubblegum Ganstas, beaten and called "Devil", a cop might have shown up within the hour to take a statement, tell you "There's not much we can do..." and ask you if you wanted some medical treatment, and that would have been the end of it. The Newspapers would not be interested, and despite what some might say, the cops wouldn't occupy the neighborhood looking for the assailants, nor guarding anyone's home as if it were Fort Fucking Knox.

And isn't it amazing that when -- for the first time in a very long time -- when there is perhaps a genuine incident of bias, the Reverend Al, Charles Baron, and all the rest of the race-baiting-do-nothing "Civil Rights" douchebags in this city are curiously silent, because the perpetrators are BLACK. Frankly, I'm glad they're silent because nothing they have to say benefits anyone. I'm sure once someone points out the hypocrisy publicly to the Rev, there will be some slapdash-thrown-together-at-the-last-minute "Peace Vigil", where the second-tier race baiters -- Black and Hispanic with an ultra-libtard token White Guy added for appearance's sake -- will sing Kumbaya, light candles, chant "Stop the Hate", and pose for the cameras. And it'll all be forgotten the following day for the sham that it all was, but Al can still say "I led a vigil against racism...".

I have been incredibly harsh on illegal immigrants in this space, and I shan't apologize for it. Fuck 'em; they don't belong here. Rather than see them beaten up and robbed of petty cash in the streets, though, I'd prefer they were all rounded up and sent back where they came from, and barring that, that some be shot at the border to discourage the greater mass. I'm also harsh on the Urban Aborigines, because, well, Fuck them, too. Slavery was abolished, you can fucking vote now, you can date white women without getting lynched, and half your "families" of seven-children-by-five-baby-daddies-who-won't-pay-child-support/are-in-jail live on the Public Tit, and in return all that comes back from that "investment" is crime, crumbling neighborhoods, failing schools, drug and child abuse, crowded jails, and packs of trigger-happy wild animals roaming the streets in baggy pants and dreadlocks playing Gangbanger.

These views will, in most "polite" quarters, get me branded as a "racist". Ask me if I give a shit. It's not racism if it happens to be true. To that squishy touchy-feely irrationally-guilty brand of libtard who throws that term around so freely, what really matters is not the thought (after all, they think it, too!) but that you had the "bad taste" to tell the truth publicly about a volatile sub-class that might pitch a riot. Riots are unseemly, and disrupt the supply of Brie and Chardonnay, and the fact that you are right about that Sub-Class only denies the Libtard the opportunity to lecture you in that condescending tone, in full I-look-down-my-nose-at-you mode. All a libtard ever really wants is to feel superior to you, even if he has to take up a position which makes him appear to be a complete idiot....and Chardonnay. Maybe if more people faced the truth, a $10 mugging would not have become an international incident, and we wouldn't have yet one more piece of evidence to show the NAACP that the majority of racism these days comes from it's own people. Fuck, if people told the truth more often, there might not have been any $10 mugging of a Mexican with an ambiguous-immigration-status at all, and the NAACP might even cease to exist.

As of this morning, the police have arrested one of the alleged assailants, a15-year old boy. It is simply a matter of time before the kid talks. No matter how tough he thinks he might be, 15-year-olds are generally pussies when they don't have a posse behind them. Within a few hours, even the Staten Island cops (this is the borough where the NYPD sends those about-to-retire, or the borderline fuck-ups) will have the bulk, if not all, of the remaining assailants. All will be processed by the Criminal Justice System (such as it is)...and probably released on bail; it's only $10 and a black eye, for Chrissakes -- and they need the space in Sing-Sing for Charlie Rangel.

If the Mexican Government really wants to be useful here, and if it really cares that much about it's own citizens, then here's the opportunity; they can offer to pay the victim's freight back to whatever Mexican shithole he crawled out of, and they can offer to prosecute the assailants in Mexican courts and house them in Mexican jails. Otherwise, the Mexican Government should Shut the Fuck Up and guard it's own side of the fucking fence,and pay as much attention to the goings on in their own Country as they do to those in this Country. If I were the Mayor of New York City, and not the current Libtard-republican-by-virtue-of-it-being-the-cheapest-label-to-buy-effete-Patrician-Upper-East-Side bourgeois- pretentious-regal-douchebag Bloomberg, instead of sending the cops to guard The Victim's house, I'd send them to ask for his fucking Green Card.

With regards to the fears of "racial profiling" that have been voiced over the new Arizona immigration law;

We have Muslim guys driving explosive-laden SUV's around my Hometown, shooting up our military bases, trying to blow up airliners with their underwear, and trying their level-best to kill thousands of innocents, but to mention the conjunction of so many extraordinary coincidences (terrorist, person of color, Muslim) is taboo in a way that it will get you rebuked and vilified by Keith Olberman and the Attorney General of the United States.

We have African-American guys running around New York City in colored bandannas, flashing gang signs, running drugs and shooting each other up in the open, but if you should happen to draw parallels between dress, race, and activities, you're engaging in stereotyping, which is bad juju -- even if it happens to be provably true. Reverend Al and Charles Baron, and a legion of brain-dead welfare recipients,will be on your doorstep for daring to point out the glaringly obvious, to threaten and harass you with impunity...and lots of media attention.

As Ann Coulter has said forever (paraphrasing), you can't use racial profiling to catch criminals/terrorists -- but somehow it's perfectly alright to use it to determine who gets into Harvard Law.

Racial Profiling is a fact of life (because it works!). However, the only people in America who can be safely (free from criticism and lawsuit) racially profiled nowadays are usually Conservative Caucasian Males. You'd think otherwise from all the Sturm und Drang of the "Oppressed Classes", but this is now all too obviously true. Need proof? Try this one on for size:

We now know that the last failed attempt to blow up New York City was made by a Pakistani immigrant, who is now suspected of having ties to the Pakistani Army, and who trained in an Al'Qaeda training camp. He has traveled to Pakistan several times in the last few years, often staying for months at a time. He has ties to a known radical Islamic "cleric". To suggest that Islam and Terrorism go hand-in-glove will get you morally censored in Polite Society. But, if you listened to the news reports in during the crisis, everyone from the dopey anchors at MSNBC, to the Obamatards at DHS. to the Mayor (Bloomberg), and a U.S. Senator (Schumer), were insisting that the attempted bomber just HAD to be a disgruntled white guy who "fit the description" which went something like this:

Extreme Right winger, middle-aged White male loner, probably in the Tea Party movement, and disgruntled by the Enlightened Policies of God...errr...Barak Obama.

Except for the one U.S. Congressman (King) who broke formation to say the perpetrator was just pissed off at South Park. I'm glad we have such Rhodes Scholars running the country.

They all did/said these things within a few hours (sometimes minutes) of the attempt, before any facts had come into their possession. It was speculation, and it's indicative of the stupidity that is prevalent amongst our "Ruling Classes", and also the complete, upside-down nature of the racial debate in America these days; you can, without proof, pin the blame on a non-existent wacky White Guy, but don't you dare to suggest that crowd of black teenagers walking behind you with menace might not be on their way home from choir practice, or that a bomb left in a high-profile target area might be the work of Islamic Extremists. Nowadays, the assumption of complete innocence is being bestowed upon Hispanics with regards to Immigration. It's "their turn", I guess.

It's perfectly acceptable in Today's America to profile the White Guy as the Greatest Danger (wasn't it the Obama Administration's Homeland Security folks who warned the greatest danger to American is the returning PTSD-addled Iraq War veteran?), but the Border Crosser is just a hard-working soul who means no harm to society. During the last attempted NYC bombing there were careless references to Tim McVeigh, the Klan, White Militias, the (now apparently-innocent) Hutaree made, before the Chattering Classes finally had to confess their disappointment that the culprit was, indeed, another Person of Color of Indeterminate Religious Persuasion. The same people find it easy to criticize Whitey with no proof of being racist, but conveniently neglect the kidnappings, drug running, human trafficking, rampant crime and overflowing emergency rooms that characterizes much of the Illegal Immigration question. The Media and our Politicians link everyone with an opinion that runs counter to Obama's Blessed Vision as a bomb-throwing extremist -- but they all look as if they're about to wet themselves if they have to say the words "Radical Islam", "Black Criminal" or "Illegal Alien".

Concerning "Racial Profiling"; there was a time in America when the police using "profiling" was known by another name. It used to be called "The Cops Doing Their Jobs", and it was a useful tool in the fight against crime. All police officers profile (don't let anyone tell you differently); it's all about recognizing certain patterns of behavior and and circumstances and then drawing inferences from them based upon experience. They just "know" that certain people who fit a certain profile are probably involved in something wrong.

Are the cops always right? No. Sometimes that scantily clad woman at the stoplight, talking up the stopped motorists, is really just a chick who's car broke down on the way to a costume party, and she's trying to beg a ride. Sometimes, that guy in the hoodie didn't steal the television he's carrying; he just brought over to his friend's house so they could watch the big game on a sweeter rig. Sometimes, the black guy in dreadlocks in the High-end Mercedes isn't a drug dealer, but the son of a prominent doctor. The Cops can sometimes be wrong, but they are usually correct much more often.

The idea that the police "harass" certain groups of people for "doing nothing" (euphemism: "driving while _______" or "doing a job an American won't do") is a false one. If a police officer is hassling you, he probably has a reason to do so (unless he's a complete wackjob). Most cops have better things to do than the extra paperwork, and their job is already dangerous and unpredictable enough as it is, without having to actually manufacture more danger by instigating something without a reason. But, we're getting off the real topic here.

There is a segment of the population, prevalent amongst the old "Civil Rights" set, which has long made a living off of creating a controversy where none exists, a phenomenon I've heard referred to as "Waiting for Someone To Yell Nigger". It basically means there are people out there who are entirely all-too-ready to put a racial spin on anything in order to exploit the grievance gravy train, or the political spoils system. People like this are like ambush predators; they lay in wait, until someone strays from the herd of Political Correctness, to say or do something which can be (deliberately) misconstrued, just so they can file a lawsuit, start a picket line, twist a congresscritter's arm, riot in the streets, and make someone (usually White Guys) "pay". If no one obliges them and actually yells "Nigger!", then they try to find some way to insinuate that you're at least thinking it and everybody knows it, anyway (i.e. Institutional Racism).

It's a well-established pattern, and it's been made use of by every political/racial group on the planet -- Blacks, Feminists, Gays, American Indians, Muslims -- and now it about to be used by Hispanics in regard to this new Arizona Immigration Law.

You know how you can tell this is one of those times when outrage is being manufactured for political gain? When the three people who should be the most concerned about the subject -- The President of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States, and the Secretary of Homeland Security -- can all admit they haven't read the law, but they feel the need to scream "racism!" before it even goes into effect, and expect to be taken seriously.

The scheme is based upon the old adage that the "Squeaky Wheel Always Gets the Grease".

Well, the Squeaky Wheels have been greased so often that each successive Squeak has -- by necessity - to be louder and more outrageous than the last, and many of the more infamous attempts of recent years have quickly been exposed for what they were; shams and contrivances of convenience. This only makes the folks with the Grease all the less likely to applying it tot he next Squeaky Wheel. The Squeaking over Illegal Immigration is about to get louder, and shriller, and expect to see those who disagree with the view that it's perfectly legal to violate a nation's sovereignty, and then steal from it, get further tarred with the Racist label, and worse. Those who want the problem of illegal immigration fixed, for good, will be called Nazi, Fascist, Baby Killer, Puppy Kicker, Slave Master, and far worse. The Pro-Immigration side will engage in the basest of stereotyping and racial profiling -- all the while claiming the moral high ground and accusing their opponents of the same. The hyperbole will completely destroy the credibility of their own arguments, but it won't really matter; they'll still be taken seriously by the Press and political establishment -- which largely agrees with or earns a living off of them, will cover for them, or which maybe even does their bidding.

After all, we all know how terrible White Guys are...all potential terrorists, you know.

The Squeaky Wheels have yet to realize that The Only People in America You Can Racially Profile Safely in the United States have run out of Grease, and are considering a search for a new Wheel. This might be the last chance to put the White Guy in his place for a long time to come, if ever. The Other Side hasn't realized that the old arguments about "racism" are on their last legs. Those arguments worked when society was still capable of feeling guilt and shame, and when there was an actual moral foundation to the charges. But not anymore. Few nowadays, are ever responsible for anything. Few are expected to take the feelings and needs of their fellow citizens into consideration anymore. The Race Card had been played until its gotten all ragged, and dog-eared and faded, and you see it coming out of the deck before it's ever dealt.

People are hurting economically, our Government is about to spend us all into eternal poverty -- when it doesn't plan to steal from us -- our lives are being regimented and re-ordered like never before, our activities are being scrutinized like never before. The people who have been put upon the most in order to build Brave New World -- the ones who actually pay for it -- are fed up. It just a coincidence that the first test will be over Illegal Immigration.

So expect White Guy to push back -- on immigration, on affirmative action, gay marriage, on a range of issues in which White Guy is simply expected to surrender his rights and freedoms, and cash, and someone else gets to enjoy the benefits just because they can cry louder. That won't work anymore.

We've reached a point in American history where White Guy is sick of being portrayed as a lunatic fringer, of being blamed for every evil past, present, and future, and tired of being set upon by politicians, pundits, racial hucksters and tax collectors. His ears have been wearied by those who scream about their "rights", and somehow forget that White Guy is supposed to have some, too

The next time I see eleven Mexicans in a rusty van, I'm calling the cops. You've been warned. Yelling "Beaner!" is a tactic that simply won't work anymore.

Reasons To Vote Against Elena Kagan...

1. Law professors seem to love her. Anything the legal profession likes, is probably bad for the rest of us. And besides; those who can, do, those that can't, teach, and those that can't even do that, work for the government.

Academics do NOT live int he real world, often. Barack Obama was a law professor (Constitutional law, wasn't it?) and he couldn't find the Constitution with both hands and a flashlight. And if he has, he obviously hasn't read it. After all, here's the man who boldly implied over the weekend that we Americans have too many options, and have too much information for him to govern in the same way that Stalin did, and to cry about it. Goddamn that First Amendment!

I rest my case.

2. Kagan has no record, to speak of. And what there is, is extremely thin gruel. Barack Obama has succeeded in finding someone even less-qualified than he is for one of the most powerful positions in the United States Government, and worse, a position where she will be ensconced -- even becoming an institution, perhaps -- before her career is over. Obama will be gone, eventually, but his "legacy" of Sotomayor, and now potentially, Kagan, will continue to haunt and torture us for a very long time.

3. Obama really had to sell her at the Presser yesterday. He was pulling out all the stops, and his Teleprompter almost overloaded on adjectives of praise. If you have to try that hard, then she's probably not all that good to begin with. You're trying to shine a turd, As soon as Obama had to mention that Kagan represented a certain "diversity" on the court, I gagged. If anything, Kagan seems to represent more of the Ginsburg/Sotomayor school of using the court to advance liberal and identity politics that cannot be carried by electoral processes, although I have to admit this is more about a feeling than actual fact. I can't actually prove that she would be just another pro-Libtard/Anti-America vote.

Going back to the praise thing, Obama alluded to the fact that Kagan was friendly with Thurgood Marshall, burnishing her Extra-Legal-Rights-And-Reparations-For-Blacks...ooops...I mean, Civil Rights cred. He gave us the usual Americana story of the child of immigrants -- wasn't Sotomayor the child of immigrants, too? -- making good against apparently insurmountable odds(we love that shit). Because, you know, in today's America where immigrants are in danger of being put into Concentration Camps, it's amazing that the chld of an immigrant achieves anything at all. And then he praised her for making the "commitment" to choose "service above money" in her legal career.

Like "Dean of Harvard Law School" pays minimum wage? And besides; considering what the Best and Brightest that The Ivy can produce have done to us in the last 12-20 years, that's perhaps not the vaunted position it probably once was. The inference that Kagan was "superior" for having chosen government over profit, is almost a fetish with Obama. He's deeply delusional in this way, and it's always used to take another swipe at Wall Street and Evil Capitalism; she could have been a corporate attorney and made a shitload of money, but she chose government "service" and teaching, instead. She's better then Them, and by Association, so am I, Obama. Actually, it's probably more like government service and teaching chose her; the reason she didn't make all that Wall Street money is that she probably wasn't a very talented lawyer. Again, those who can, do...

Oh, and then Obama mentioned Campaign Finance Reform and Corporate contributions, the very thing he lost out on in the Court a few months ago. The hint was that Kagan would probably reverse the decision that would have cost Obama millions in contributions (and probably the presidency) had the Court made the same decision earlier. Of course, Obama got the most money from Goldman-Sachs and British Petroleum, so people in glass houses and all that. When Obama is getting their money -- and can keep it a secret -- then Capitalists are mighty fine people, indeed.

When you have to slather it on that thickly, hoping, praying that some of it sticks, you're probably trying to sell lemons.

That press conference yesterday was enough to make me vomit. That alone would cause me to vote "No!" on Elena Kagan if I were in a position to do so.

The Advance of Technology and Illegal Immigration...

One the major aspects of uncontrolled illegal immigration is the question of what one is to do with 12-15 million people who crossed the border or overstayed their visas in order to take unskilled jobs, or suckle at the government teat, when technology -- as it always does -- makes many of those jobs unnecessary?

Some would suggest that once all the good lettuce-picking and pool-cleaning jobs are gone, many of these Illegal Immigrants will simply "go home". Maybe that's true, but it's much more likely that many will decide to stay, trying to give it a go, or more likely, become Wards of the State because the generous Welfare System makes this an attractive option.

Again, many would suggest that the solution to this possibility is to make Welfare a unattractive option by lowering benefits and raising eligibility standards (encouraging those who think of staying to leave, or to attain citizenship), but then this runs afoul of the Permanent Underclass which believes that it has a right to a generous Welfare system, citing a past history of discrimination and oppression, and that lowering their benefits in order to keep others out of the system would affect them disproportionately.

So, what results is a system of inertia, which only becomes a much more expensive and troublesome proposition, and so some would suggest another route altogether -- which is Amnesty; turn those who would otherwise suck on the Welfare teat into Instant Citizens, and we should hope, taxpayers. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, then let them join the club, and hope they don't piss in the potted palms too much, right?

Except that we know this never, ever happens.The results are usually dismal, and entirely foreseeable. No society has ever survived without a continuing, and politely enforced by custom, system of assimilation,or by notdefending it's sovereignty.

If I can be permitted -- for rhetorical reasons -- to conflate two apparently-different situations in order to illustrate a point, I would liken the problem of Illegal Immigration in some ways to the problems of Slavery.

What many people might overlook is that in the 1860's technology was making the need for masses of stoop laborers a more expensive and increasingly-unnecessary proposition. Mechanical harvesters, The Cotton Gin, Steam Engines, the Telegraph and Railroads were on the verge of making entire occupations obsolete, or reducing the need for physical labor. One of the issues that faced Southern plantation owners in those days was not so much the moral question of "Is slavery a good thing?", or even a more self-serving "Does a continuation of the slave-plantation system make economic sense with the advance of technology", but rather "what do you do with 4 million blacks who will soon be out of work, off the plantation and out of your control, and nursing legitimate grievances that might explode into violence?"

The answer some came up with was to try to maintain the Status Quo, even by force of arms. Eventually, this too would have failed (as it in fact, did) because it would make more economic sense to invest in machines than slaves in the long run. The issue was one of control. The system would have to be perpetuated as matters of personal survival and societal cohesion, rather than as matters of economics or freedoms. This is, in part, the origin of the Secessionist Movement, and the Confederacy.

Now, I'm not defending the Confederacy, nor am I saying in any way whatsoever that "Slavery was good", or even a necessary evil. I'm making the argument, probably poorly, was that given the choice between permanently supporting millions of slaves as a matter of personal survival, or granting freedom to millions of poor, uneducated, unskilled and superfluous workers with legitimate beefs for which to exact vengeance for, the choice of perpetuating the Old System was preferable to the imagined alternative. This mindset (and thebehaviors it engendered) probably also colored (excuse the term) in some ways the recovery of the South in the years after the Civil War -- because technology that might have helped repair the damage to the economy was purposely not invested in in order to help sustain the Plantation System as it was, and because failure to more quickly assimilate or concilliate a potential, wage-earning labor pool, was delayed by the bad feelings engendered by defeat and Reconstruction.

Had it not been for the defeat of the Confederacy, and the slow erosion of old attitudes by law and experience, we might still be talking about an American Apartheid system. I'm not saying that things are perfect now, but they are infinitely better than what could have been imagined by even the most optimistic and well-meaning Mint-Julip-sipper 200 years ago.

We're sorta-kinda approaching the same circumstances with Illegal Immigrants today.

Technology is advancing in such a way as to make even more categories of physical labor obsolete. I don't know about you, but in a world where it's possible to build machines which put entire regiments of skilled workers (accountants, computer programmers, stockbrokers, journalists, technicians of all sorts) out of work every few years, where crops are being genetically-engineered to be easier to grow and harvest, and where improved standards and levels of education are making the choice between unskilled labor and a desk job in an air-conditioned office a no-brainer, then it's only a matter of time before the masses of Illegal Immigrants we have now find themselves in much the same boat as former-slaves were in, post-Freedom. They simply will not have the tools or access to the means to support and better themselves except under great hardship, and they often won't be encouraged to obtain them. For the most part, they will form a New Permanent Underclass. Eventually, that Underclass will become another self-perpetuating source of discontent, racial politicking, and Welfare statism.

The question is: do we really wish allow the conditions for another five, seven, maybe even ten, generations of such people to sit around, supported by the taxpayer from increasingly-scarce funds, and laboring under the obstacles imposed by government fiat to keep them there for a new class of racial hucksters and politician to further exploit? Or do we nip the problem in the bud now, and encourage them to either assimilate NOW, or kindly leave?

The major differences between the plight of African Slaves and Illegal Immigrants is that the slaves were brought here against their will, and their return was problematic at best, and logistically and economically, impossible. The legacy of maltreatment and oppression would leave deep scars that would take generations to heal, if in fact they ever do (and there are entire networks of people dedicated to seeing that they never do -- on both sides of the issue). Society was eventually convinced of it's sin of keeping people in bondage vile and had a responsibility and obligation to "help them along" when things changed. It's only through the vagaries of politics that this "help" acquired the status of a birthright -- and became a system just waiting to be plundered by opportunists.

Many Illegal Aliens made a choice to come here, and since they were able to walk, drive, fly, or sail to these shores, they are perfectly free and capable of making the journey in reverse. Unlike the days of Slavery, no one is stopping them or has a vested interest in detaining them. If conditions are so bad in their home countries perhaps they might take some of what they learned here and apply it to the problem of improving their lot in life back home, and be happier for it. We already know, some of these folks have an incredible capacity for work. We should hope to keep the best and brightest and most motivated, of course, but the great mass do not fall into this category, sadly.

In the meantime, the specter of 12-15 million illegals who aren't even making an attempt to assimilate, who regard education as something akin to a sulphuric-acid enema, who come from cultural backgrounds with practices utterly alien -- and often disgusting -- to us, and who find made-to-order-and-generous-services-delivered-at-no-expense-to-themselves simply making themselves at home is a terrifying vision of the future. We've already had vast experience with this very mindset with African-Americans and it's deleterious effects on Civil Society. Do we really want to repeat the experiment? Or have we learned our lessons -- cultural and moral -- well enough, already?

Technology is on it's way to to making the days of the Illegal Immigrant landscaper,fruit-picker, taxi driver, newsagent, roofer and busboy a thing of the past. Those who can't keep up will fall into permanent poverty, and become an even bigger headache for the taxpayer and a further impediment to the laudable goal of "good government".

Al Sharpton: Jackass...

Whenever I hear Al Sharpton refer to something in terms of "morality", I usually have to stifle the almost-uncontrollable urge to have myself a big 'ol bellylaugh.

Then I have to stifle the disturbing urge to quickly jump into the shower and scrub myself thoroughly with a Brillo pad.

Al Sharpton is one to talk about "Apartheid" since he derives his supposed-stature, infamy, political influence and living from a system of racial double standards in which the subjects of Race, Affirmative Action, the Welfare State, Educational preferences, violent crime, social disintigration and so on, are taboo for a White Guy to offer an opinion upon (doing so gets you tarred as "racist", and a picket line, if Al doesn't like your point of view), but that Al and the brain-dead, mental-plantation-latter-day-government-slave-personal-irresponsibility-is-my-birthright crowd can twist and warp those conventions in order to benefit from those double standards....usually at someone else's expense, and without regard to "fairness" or legality.

I also find it laughable that some of Sharpton's political bent (not necessarily The Rev, himself) who object to the concept of a person having to prove their immigration status after being arrested, are also some of the same people who not so long ago advocated for the creation of a National ID card system...and who have continually voted to renew the Patriot Act, and laws concerning the use of warrent-less wiretaps, and such, while cynically screaming that such things are a violation of Civil Rights.

If Bill (First Black President!) or Hillary has anything to say about this -- because you just know it's coming -- I'll probably puke, but before that happens I should certainly hope they think before they speak -- although with Bill, this is sort of like dropping someone into a room full of power tools and lumber and demanding they bake you a Red Velvet cake; It's beyond hope.

But I digress.

The reasons why Sharpton disagrees with Arizona's new immigration law have nothing to do with the defense of Civil Rights or improving the conditions of life in these United States (the Law is not aimed at individuals an dcreating a new class of criminals, so much as it is individuals who are already breaking existing Law who are the targets). Rather, his motivations revolve around keeping a law intended to prevent the abuse of the welfare system, criminal activity, enhance national security, and save valuable taxpayer money from becoming the harbinger of what he secretly dreads might happen to the carefully-constructed Racial Spoils system that depends so heavily upon voter fraud, welfare, and the ability to inflame racial hatreds and disagreements for personal gain.

In other words: He's protecting his own wallet, and the ability of a permanent underclass (it's permanent in the sense that there's too much easy money,political capital and emotion invested in it for it to be discontinued, or even changed slightly) to continue benefiting from the System as it stands now.

After all: If Whitey comes for the illegal Hispanics now, it's only a matter of time before Whitey comes for the Brothers and Welfare Queens who support you, right Al?

I'm willing to give The Rev the benefit of the doubt up to this point; if he can prove that such a law MUST lead to a violation of someones civil rights, then it's incumbent upon him to present the proof. The truth is, the law only went into affect a few days ago, and insofar as I know no one's rights have been raped by it as of this date. If Sharpton can prove a negative, then by all means, he should do so. I'll be the first to congratulate him for this amazing feat. Until then, he should probably keep his mouth shut because, otherwise, all he's doing is stirring up hatred, fear and enmity for no discernible reason....except his own enrichment.

When Al Sharpton tells the truth about Tawana Brawley, accepts his responsibility for the Freddy's Mart murders and fire, takes President Obambi (First Half-Black President!) to task for making overtly racial overtures to race-based voting blocs -- and a host of other things -- perhaps he'll have the respect and standing from which to make "moral" pronouncements.

Otherwise, it's just Al blowing a lot of hot air and guarding his rice bowl.

Arizona Makes it Illegal to Be in Arizona Illegally...

And it's about fuckin' time, too!

The State of Arizona has passed a law which (finally!) makes it illegal to be an illegal alien. Confronted by the fact that the Federal Government has failed in it's responsibility (under Article IV, Section IV of the Constitution) to guarantee Republican government, and to defend each state from invasion, the state finally decided that if you want something done right, you probably have to do it yourself.

Police officers in Arizona now have the power to ask about a person's immigration status, and to demand documentation proving that status -- if they have sufficient cause to believe that someone may be in the state illegally.

Naturally, the Libtards have already made their allusions to Nazi Germany (the great refrain on all the sites today is some variation of the Nazi "Papers, please?" cliche), and naturally, Hispanic Groups are already up in arms about how this law is aimed specifically at them (well...duh! But, then again, the law makes no distinction between Hispanic, and say, French or Chinese. It just says "undocumented" or "illegal" in that fine legalese bullshit way), but these responses are de rigeur for the Left, and usually overly-simplistic; they are aimed at people who little intelligence and trouble chewing gum and walking simultaneously. These kinds can usually be counted upon to miss the Big Question. In this case, the The Big Question -- "does anyone have the right to be a criminal parasite?" has a common-sense answer the Libtards don't want the faithful to hear.

They squeal and make illusions to Soviet Gulags (Gulags, incidentally, which they were all in favor of so long as it was their ideological enemies being sent to them) because the more emotional and stupid amongst us will, naturally, react in the same way, and their opposition to similar laws will be based upon fear rather than reason. Libtards cannot do anything without appealing to or manipulating the emotions of fear, envy and guilt.

Finally, because Libtards expect Hispanics to be yet another monolithic voting bloc, just like American Blacks, the rights of the criminal portion of that demographic must be defended at all costs. If Arizona gets away with this, then every state in the Union will try it, and the next thing you know, English becomes the chief lingua franca of the United States, 12 million parasites (i.e. Potential Obama voters) suddenly up and leave before they can be arrested and deported, why, who knows what chaos would follow?

I mean, the government might be forced to stop providing services in any language other than English because the demand for them would decrease and the expense no longer justifiable. The hospitals might actually be less busy, having to provide fewer services and procedures to those who won't pay for them, saving money and becoming more efficient in the process. Something that Libtards will try to paint as a consequence of ObamaCare, but we'll all know better. Our Schools might actually work, because resources will not have to be dedicated (wasted on) to teaching to non-English speakers who will most likely never graduate because of their culture's indifference to education.

Tens, perhaps hundreds of Billions of tax-payer dollars will be saved when the entire apparatus of Liberal-inspired "services", which only serve to encourage illegal immigration by catering to the immigrants needs, all comes crashing down. It's a horrible thought, because if that should ever happen, millions of government-union employees would be tossed out of work, "Immigration Advocates" would have no one to "advocate" for, Immigration Attorneys would be forced to practice law instead of game the system. They might even, horror of horrors!, be forced to find gainful employment in the private sector!

I figure many of them (the former government employees)will be forced to take the McJobs they all hate so much, because those might be the only tasks they're actually qualified for.

One prong to the strategy to permanently ensconce a Left-wing influence in American politics was by artificially skewing the demographics of the country. This strategy will have been wrecked if illegal immigration were controlled, and the laws enforced. The Libs cannot abide true immigration enforcement -- let alone actual immigration reform -- because to do so weakens them, threatens their power and self-esteem, and limits their ability to manipulate public feelings and opinions so as to extract the maximum amount of wealth from the people who created it to fund their own non-productive, more like counter-productive, official fiefdoms. They get money for basically a) doing nothing, and b) doing things that are harmful to the greater society, because it's all ultimately a part of their their political outlook.

The only this missing from this Arizona law is the ability to taser an illegal immigrant right on the fucking spot, if you ask me. I want to see everyone who isn't here legally make another Run for the Border -- this time headed south. I'd like to see the assholes who support the Religion of Terrorism head for the airports, and leave before they can blow something else up, or litter the streets ith the bodies of their "Honor Killed" daughters and wives. I'd jump for joy if just one person attached to the cocaine and marijuana trades was tossed out on his ass. I'd be ecstatic if I could open my local newspaper and not read of another victim of a drunk-driving illegal immigrant (usually with a criminal record) , or there was one fewer rape atrocity story involving Central American romantic jealousy. One less warning about strange diseases like West Nile Virus, SARS and the fifty variations of Swine and Avian flus, tuberculosis, measles, and even cholera and bubonic plague being brought back into the United States from people arriving from all shitholes of the planet.

But don't mind me --- I'm a racist according to half my e-mail.

Personally, I don't have a pool and am capable of mowing my own lawn. I don't take many taxis, and can live without all that lettuce in my diet. I really hate the sound of leafblowers at sunrise.
I can live with a fewer restaurants, despite my addictions to Arroz con pollo, Cubanos and Churros y Chocolateada.

Good for Arizonans, I say. They're being overrun by an invasion of people who have no respect for their rights, their property or their laws. People who bring crime, corruption, and decay with them, who refuse to assimilate and who suck mightily on the public teat, while offering little in the way of economic benefits or even good citizenship.

Mark Your Calendars: May 20th is "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!"

A movement is afoot to support Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park who were recently threatened with death by an Islamic website for daring to poke fun at the wife-beating, felonious, mentally-unstable, child-molesting Prophet Mohammed, by having as many people as possible draw and display their conception of that Desert-Dwelling Douchebag, all on the same day.

It's called "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day".

The idea is that if the response to an Islamic death threat -- and also a response to the censorship which some in America feel is itself the appropriate response to Islamic death threats (because they're pussies!) -- is mass ridicule, then the death threats will cease. That if there is pushback, these assholes will back down. Eventually, each threat is answered with a new wave of ridicule and blasphemy larger than the last, and the intimidation and attempt to censor Americans exercising their rights to Free Speech will come to an end.

It'll work, because at heart, all Islamic men are bullies, with very small penises, who have no guts for a principled fight whatsoever. They are nothing more than tiny little dictators, their little minds warped by endless hours of sodomy suffered at the hands of their imams in "school", who live in continuous, quaking, sweating, pants-shitting fear of The Vagina -- a fear so deep and terrifying, that they must wrap their womenfolk up in burlap, beat them regularly, hide them from public view and treat them like cattle. Then they go out and shag sheep. It's no wonder that as soon as Arab women hit the West they immediately "trade up" to one of us normal (usually white) guys -- assuming they aren't killed by their fathers and brothers first, or married off to a first-cousin in the sewers of Lahore, Aden or Damascus before they're old enough to realize that they're being oppressed.

Let the pig fuckers...err..."extremists"...know that that this is OUR Country,and OUR Culture, and we mean to defend it and ourselves. Let them know that their ideas, ways of life, peccadilloes, vagina-phobia, and insane farm-animal fetishes count for absolute shit, and that if they wish to become true Americans, they'll just have to assimilate and learn to have a little tolerance, otherwise, they can just GO THE FUCK HOME.

Those are the words of a New York City Bureaucrat attached to the Department of Education in the wake of a "scandal" in which it was discovered that perhaps thousands of New York City school kids who were "entitled" to Bi-lingual or English-As-A-Second-Language instruction, didn't get said instruction.

In true New York City government fashion, the Department of Education is forming a Blue-Ribbon Panel to study the issue, and it's seeking participation from the "Bi-Lingual Community" or whatever.

The story then goes on to tell you all about the trials and tribulations of immigrant parents who aren't involved in their children's schooling because "they don't feel welcomed" or are presumably intimidated by School Safety Officers who ask for identification cards when parents do show up at school. Tommyrot.

The story doesn't make clear, and I suppose neither did the nimrods who set up this Panel, just how many of those kids who require Bi-lingual education -- or just how many of those "unwelcomed" parents -- are illegal immigrants. Also left unexplained is just how the hell they're "entitled" to anything they don't pay taxes for. Because, let's face it, one of the biggest problems facing city and state governments nowadays is providing ever-more-expensive "services" to people who don't pay for any of them and abuse the hell out of them.

At what point does what passes for government in New York City and State begin to realize that it can't continue to provide things to people who shouldn't even be here in the first place? Why is it encouraging even more of these people to come here by letting them know their children will be educated in their Native Language at someone else's expense? Why is it that the "solution" to most problems in the United States involves taking from the productive to give to the non-productive, and in this case, probably criminal?

I might not have an issue if the people this program was specifically aimed at were people who were playing by the rules, and awaiting or actively working towards, U.S. Citizenship. But that quote "...we don't care what your immigration status is..." troubles me greatly.

If you want to fix the problems of Bi-lingual education, the solution, it seems to me, is to not provide it all, at least not when it's funded by the taxpayers. The truth is that many of the children in bi-lingual education programs will never learn English, and most won't even stay in school, because the system isn't set up to teach it to them in the first place; it exists solely to put more teachers on the payroll, and then overpay them. Perhaps those children would be better served if, and I'm spitballing here, the City didn't offer Bi-lingual education, and instead encouraged local organizations to provide English instruction before the little waifs attended school? Or better yet, perhaps the Federal Government could perform one of it's prime functions and keep Illegals out of the country in the first place?

In that fashion, perhaps we could avoid the "scandal" of not providing bi-lingual services (of all kinds) to criminals.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, spare me the crap about "it's about the children" and "don't punish the kids for the sins of the parents" and "they're just trying to build a better life". Because the reason most are here is to collect welfare and medical benefits they'll never pay for, and to give birth in American hospitals (that they won't pay for, either) so that the child obtains Birthright Citizenship which rewards criminal behavior by making it possible to import even more illegal immigrants who will collect welfare benefits they won't ever pay for.

I'm not anti-immigrant. After all, I'm the descendant of immigrants, but I am against rewarding people who break the law, and worse, encouraging them to come forward to suggest how their criminal activity can be facilitated and tailored to their particular requirements. Every non-English-speaking child of an Illegal Immigrant takes resources away from a Non-English-Speaking-Child who's parents at least had the decency to follow the goddamned rules.

Anatomy of a Government Program...

Ever wonder how a Government Program gets started? I have (Hat-tip to the late Andy Rooney!). I've been giving the process some thought, and I think I have figured it out (bear with me, this gets complicated).

It usually begins when some twit writes a Letter to the Editor. She (it's usually a "She" ) has her tits in a knot because she's been inconvenienced by what used to be called "one of Life's little Turdburgers", and she's mightily upset. Some Congresscritter who needs to find a way to justify It's existence, hefty paycheck and exalted status, picks up on it, and then decides to"help" this poor, downtrodden citizen, because -- dammit -- America is just that sort of country and no one should be expected to suffer the indignities and consequences of simply being alive and clueless!

What follows is a comedy of earnest Congressional nonsense, which requires an expensive and expansive government "solution", which has unintended consequences which themselves require yet more expensive and expansive government "solutions". In the meantime, Life As it Was becomes a little bit harder, and your freedoms and choices are gradually reduced, while your pocket gets picked. The process repeats itself endlessly, as those who had good intentions but bad ideas struggle to remain one step ahead of their own stupidity.

An example:

Some nitwit in San Francisco (it's always some nitwit in San Francisco) tells the harrowing tale of how her little tyke was seriously injured in school, a result of his untied shoelaces. He tripped, bumped his little coconut, and wound up in the Emergency Room, where he was given stitches and his mother was given The Bill for $100.00. It's only $100.00 because her private insurance (her husband actually works for a living and can afford insurance for his family, a rarity considering everyone else is on ObamaCare) paid the other $400.00. However, that $100.00 is a financial hardship -- that money was earmarked for new, matching gold-plated-Second-bathroom-sink-designer-hot-and-cold-water-taps, you know -- and isn't a shame that in Modern America a family must sacrifice and make the dreadful choice between medical care for a child and a home improvement project that would have raised their resale value by several tens of dollars in a down real-estate market that has caused grave economic damage all over the country?

The ordeal has "shaken her faith in America"; apparently, the union teacher who witnessed the fall refused to help the boy because "it wasn't her job" to help him tie his shoes. The distraught Mother didn't even know her son couldn't tie his own shoes (after all, she gave birth to the little demon, how could she be expected to watch it and teach it anything, and besides, isn't this what the schools are for anyway?). She bemoans the fact that with "our busy lifestyles", that she doesn't have the time to teach her children to tie their shoes properly and hasn't got the "resources" to do this (usually because she's busy Facebooking and hand-printing more "Bush Lied, People Died" signs for her Code Pink rally), and "shouldn't something be done about this dangerous and expensive situation?"

Now, Nancy Pelosi reads the Letters to the Editor (or at least one of her Staff reads them for her) because she "needs to know what her constituents are thinking and saying". She picks up on this immediately. Why, who knew that children are being injured by defective shoelaces that come untied of their own accord? Who knew that the skill of knot-tying wasn't being taught in the Public Schools? After all, we teach our children about Anal Sex, Homosexual Marriage and Bestiality! Where is all the taxpayer money going?

Nancy (or rather, her Staff) does some quick research. They find a study done by the University of West Buttfuck on Fire Island, which concluded that 14-out-of-every-6 (liberal math always works this way) people will trip over untied shoelaces in the course of their lives,and suffer "serious" injury (defined as mild embarrassment, and momentary loss of equilibrium). The study is ironclad, unimpeachable -- Charlie Rangel funded it with an earmark stuffed into last year's Agriculture Bill, and the expenditure of taxpayer money must be justified, so it becomes the Bible of the Shoelace Injury Movement.

It also just so happens that another study by the Velcro Advocacy Board (located in Steny Hoyer's District, and funded by an earmark stuffed into a Pentagon Appropriations Bill), a Velcro-Industry Think-Tank, has determined that Velcro never comes unstuck once fastened, and that 743,000,000 Americans could be spared serious injury (defined as any situation likely to cause others to laugh at you) if only their shoelaces were replaced by sturdy Velcro.

The Congressional Black Caucus adds yet another study (funded by another earmark stuffed into a National Park's appropriation for the purpose of fighting forest fires by John Conyers) by a prominent "Black Cultural Organization" which states that Black children are more likely to be injured by untied shoelaces because Ghetto Culture deigns the tying of shoes to be "acting White". If you're going to address the critical problem of untied shoelaces, you must take the plight of Black shoelace-trippers into consideration. Its a Civil Rights Issue, you see.

So now, we have a real "emergency" on our hands! Untied shoelaces constitute a multi-pronged threat to civil society! They come untied, causing children to trip over them, resulting in injury and Emergency Room visits, which cost American families money. The Public Schools are woefully unprepared to teach our children about the dangers, causes and solutions to the threat of untied shoes. Parents are overwhelmed by the ordeal of having to teach the intricacies of the basic slipknot, and Black People are being forced to pay for shoelaces they don't even use! Why, it's a confluence of dilemmas that threatens the very fabric of American life; Public Safety, Health Care, Educational deficiency, Racial Inequality and Consumer Protection issues, all rolled up into one!

Nancy, Charlie, Steny and a few Squishy Republicans get together to "solve" this vital National Emergency, and to save their phoney-baloney jobs by a brilliant display of Law-writing.Their wheels start a'spinnin', Lobbysists drop off thick envelopes of cash, Keith Olbermann has apoplexy on (P)MSNBC, and Evil Republicans who Defend Big Shoelace are excoriated it the Press. What emerges is an absolute gem of Washington problem solving.

The Shoestring Initiative (or SHIT, because Washington loves catchy acronyms) is born.

SHIT requires that all shoemakers stop using shoelaces and makes provision that all shoes in future be secured snugly and comfortably by government-approved Velcro fasteners. Shoelaces will be completely outlawed by 2178, and where that is not practicable, replacement shoelaces will be heavily taxed (except the for the "exempted" ones produced by Union Labor in Louise Slaughter's District, which cost three times as much and break twice as often. That provision will be slipped into the next Homeland Security Bill, because the Evil Republicans in the Senate would vote it down, otherwise). Soon, the entire country will be surefooted and secure, their personal safety never again threatened by the danger of a deadly shoelace.

Five years later, the Zipper Institute of America (in Barney Frank's district) will announce the results of a new study (funded by another earmark slipped into a NASA appropriations bill, because Barney has been looking out for America's zippers forever) in which it has been discovered that Velcro is not very biodegradable, and will remain in landfills for the next 17-and-half Trillion years. American landfills will be full-to-the-brim with unrotting Velcro by 2764, an environmental disaster of epic proportions in the making -- which flies in the face of every U.N. Climate Change Treaty (none of which have never been ratified by the US Congress, but the issue is kept alive for political purposes). Something must be done!
So, the Congressbeasts go back to "work", and what emerges is the new VAGINA Act (Velcro and Garbage Dump Investigation and Neutralization Act). VAGINA requires that no shoe be made with Velcro after Christmas-three-years-ago, and imposes heavy taxes and fines on those still using it. Old shoes containing Velcro will be considered "assault weapons", and all Americans required to turn them in at their local police department (where they will receive a lovely JiffyLube gift certificate as an incentive. Inner city Welfare Recipients don't have cars, so they will be given an equivalent redeemable at their nearest Needle Exchange Program).

Furthermore, all Velcro shoe-fastening arrangements must be replaced by zippers designed to exacting, European standards, made of flimsy, bio-degradable materials, complete with bi-lingual instructions for illegal Spanish-speaking immigrants (that provision will be stuck in the back-end of next year's Inland Waterways Capital Improvement Bill, which no one bothers reading, anyway).

In the meantime, it will soon be discovered that 2,000,000,008 Americans (according the U.S. Census Bureau) will have lost the ability to tie knots of any sort whatsoever, a problem that will result in heavy loss of life to mountain climbers, S&M enthusiasts (many in Barney Frank's zipper-loving district), surgical patients, cowboys and those expecting to be rescued from burning buildings and other emergency situations by the local Fire Department. Just as Congress turns it's attention to this issue, the Feminazis will take the Boy Scouts to court, charging them with discrimination and patriarchal oppression of Womyn because they STILL insist on teaching young boys to tie knots in secret, male-dominated-crypto-fascist-Womyn-Bashing-Circles, while denying the same accommodation to little girls. They'll bash Sarah Palin as a Gun-toting-Right-Wing-Retarded-Baby-Making-Eco-Nazi for daring to defend the Boy Scouts and the Free-Enterprise rights of Big Velcro...and Haliburton... for good measure. Rachel Maddow will vow to shave her beard on national television in support of her "sisters".

But not to worry:Nancy, Steny, Charlie, Barney, Louise and a "Reaching-across-the-Aisle-in-Bi-Partisan-Fashion" John McCain will be Johnnys-on-the-Spot, proposing the solution to the "Knot-tying Gap" between the genders with the new Females United against the Clove-Hitch Knot Decree, or FUCKED Act.

And now you know just how it is that we all, eventually, get FUCKED.

There's Nothing More Disgusting Than...

...Listening to Nancy Pelosi quote Thomas Jefferson, and get the context so incredibly wrong as to make your head spin. Jefferson was a thinker and a patriot, while Nancy Pelosi is an unreformed, troglodytic communist. One is worthy of praise and respect, the other should be torn to pieces by rabid dogs on Pay-per-View.

....Watching Barack Obama take a victory lap for something he didn't even do. It's become known as ObamaCare, but the monstrosity that was passed last night was the creation of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and several hundred lobbyists. Once again, Barack Obama takes credit for other peoples work -- a habit that decades of Affirmative Action have probably instilled in him as the right and proper thing to do.

...Seeing the smug look on Al Sharpton's face. Sharpton and his ilk supported ObamaCare because it was simply one more "program" which will put some brothas and sistahs to what appears to be work in government service, where they'll never be evaluated according to the their actual skills and talent, nor ever expected to actually produce anything of value. In the meantime, a few more of the recipient classes will survive cancer at Whitey's expense (Reparations), and billions in Taxpayer dollars will be showered (and wasted) upon the Inner Cities in the name of "Health" "Care", where the greatest health problems are gang-related gunshot wounds, drug addiction, domestic violence, out-of-control bastardy and malt liquor. If there's ever a provisions herein the government can force someone to undergo a painful and experimental treatment, I nominate the "Reverend" for it.

...Than watching the "democratic leadership" of the House of Representatives, including the token minorities, parade before the cameras, each taking a bow for helping to bring the demise of the United States of America, and Capitalism, one step closer. They should congratulate themselves in this sense: from now on, as long as any vestige of this piece of shit manages to survive, no political argument in this country will ever again be fought on the basis of right-of-center political theory. In five years, the great mass of the American public (the 50% who don't pay taxes) will come to "depend" upon this program, and it'll become part of the furniture, like Social Security and Medicare.

...Waking up in a country in which those who contribute nothing to society save crime, sloth, disease, destruction of the cities and schools, who are an economic millstone tied around the necks of the productive classes, who do not pay taxes, do not produce any useful goods or services, and who create nothing of any value whatsoever, are given far more attention, and afforded noble and protected status, by a body of self-interested little parasites with titles liek Senator or Congressman.

...The Narrative, which began five seconds after the "Historic Vote" of Obama as Lazarus, or the Phoenix Rising from the Ashes, of the all-knowing, all-powerful Great Leader who orchestrated the Greatest Thing Ever. If there's anything one can take solace from in this Morning of Mourning, it is that if there were anyone left who still believed in the ideal of an impartial press, it has been shattered completely and utterly by the events of yesterday. The two year campaign to get you to love Big Brother came full-circle last night. If we're ever lining up people to shoot in this country (maybe as one of those medical reforms that'll save us that non-existant $1 trillion, you know), the Press should be the first ones to get the treatment. Keith Olbermann should be the first of the first.

...James Clyburn comparing ObamaCare to the Civil Rights Act. I'm up to here with the idea that everything in America is a matter of Civil Rights, especially when that idea is advanced by people who wouldn't know a Civil Right if one walked up to them and kicked them in the balls. I'm especially sick and tired of being lectured on Civil Rights by black men with no talent or intelligence who have gamed the system that the Civil Rights movement created for their own personal enrichment, continually fighting battles that have already been won, and keeping their own people in a state of infantile ignorance and savagery. The sooner the James Clyburns, Al Sharptons, Jesse Jacksons and so forth of this society are gone, the sooner Black Americans can join the rest of us in the 21st century. Sanctimonious, affirmative-action hypocrites can kiss my ass, Congressman.

Purple Fingers Do Not A Democracy Make...

In re: Iraqi Elections.

The newscasts are making a big deal of this. If you were a supporter of G.W.B., the fact that Iraqis can vote is a sign that the invasion and the death of so many thousands of Americans and allied soldiers was worth it. Iraq is now "on it's way" to becoming a "stable democratic nation" which will "take it's rightful place in the world" and serve as a "shining example to the Muslim world" that pluralistic society and free-market economics is a better system than dictatorial rule of both church and madman.

If you opposed the war., Iraqis flashing dyed fingers is a symbol that Obi-Won Obama can finally fulfill his campaign promise to begin bringing Americans home from an ill-advised foreign adventure that was undertaken on behalf of Haliburton, Big Oil and McDonalds by the Evil Shrubby McBushhitler, and which caused the deaths of millions of innocents (Their innocents somehow still have more moral standing that Our innocents to Lefties). Yet, somehow, Joe Biden can still claim "victory" for a strategy of "stay the course" that his own side bitterly opposed (but somehow couldn't bring themselves to de-fund), in the name of the Great Obambi.

My view is simply this: so fucking what? Your view of democracy is seriously warped if you believe either theory. Democracy,as I've said here many times before, is not like a piece of software; you don't just "install" it and have it run seamlessly after some minor technical troubles and customization. One of the reasons, I think, why American diplomacy often fails in some respects is because people who think this way happen to be in charge of the government, or at least, ensconced within the bureaucracy. We somehow believe that democracy is easily transportable, and therefore, are eager to believe any asshole in a Third-World Shithole who claims to be a Democrat (it's why we keep supporting "Iranian Opposition" groups, and "dissident" Chinese, you know, with no tangible results or even an indication that many people actually believe them or would follow them). There is a belief in the upper eschelons of government that "Inside every ________ is an American dying to get out!".

This is a very poor formulation, which discounts the history and culture of democratic nations.

Because Democracy is a cultural phenomenon, with a 4,000-year old pedigree. It is not just a set of rules which people agree to follow, as it involves much more esoteric features than just The Law and Government. It is a system which has evolved in those 40 centuries to include a bunch of often-mutually-exclusive conventions which have all been modified, tempered, and adjusted by experience. I call these, for lack of a better term, Institutions.

The Institutions required for true democracy are as follows: Secular Rationalism -- the separation of politics, science and economics, and just about every other human endeavor, from the tyranny of religious orthodoxy. The Word of God is not always the final arbiter of what "works" for the greater good of society, particularly when cold, demonstrable experience contradicts the Scripture. A secular-rational society does not dismiss God entirely, but it does diminish the power of religion and superstition when these threaten to narrow the human worldview, deny the impeus towards achievement and discovery, or when they prevent the individual from being included in the Second Institution, which is;

A belief in the Rights of the Individual. All people are born with the assumption of equal capacities, if not actual, equal talents, and equal worth. We are entitled to certain courtesies (rights) by virtue of the fact that we are alive and may contribute, in whatever way we might, to the greater (but never-perfect) communal good. This means that the Individual is born with the right to own property, to enjoy a measure of personal safety against the use of arbitrary power, and to be able to use their talents, skills, and energies for their personal enrichment and growth. For this reason, Systems of Law have evolved from their predecessors --enacted and enforced precisely to protect the exalted status of Church or Monarch, and excuse and justify their arbitrary use of power -- to where they now (theoretically) protect the individual citizen against tyranny. This attribution of rights to the individual brings us to the Third Institution:

Equal Application of the Law. It's all well-and-fine to be free from the use of power of the church and state, and recognized as an individual with rights, but these mean nothing if there is no system within which they can be exercised freely, securely, and with some corresponding responsibilities. This is where the Law and Governments enter the equation, as they are specifically created and empowered by the free citizen for our mutual support and protection. In our own Western culture we have experimented with various forms of government; direct democracy, republics, proportional representation, Socialism and Communism in various forms, Anarchy, Feudalism, Dictatorship, and so forth, but always these systems come up short in some respects, and are continually refined by the application of experience (that is, by the use of secular-rationalist methods being exercised by people enjoying the right to do so without threat of retribution by those in power). One of my heroes, Winston Churchill, once described democracy as "the least-worst system of government yet devised by man..." which tells you that he, at least, thought the experiment was not over.

But, government only really exists to ensure that "The System" is fair, equitable and applied (yes, through use of force, Libertarians!) in a way which ensures that liberty is protected against those who would pervert it, or take it away. The Law is simply one of the more powerful weapons in the arsenal of free peoples, but it, too, is not perfect. It also evolves through a process which is similar to the one which creates governments -- free people, accorded equality, who are able to apply the lessons of experience to it's betterment and refinement. When this requirement is met, you are now ready for the final cornerstone of democracy:

Economic Freedom. This is the ability to exercise your rights to own, trade, sell, and profit from your work, talents, mind, skills and assets. It is the right to pass on your property from one generation to the next without it being taken away (except by reasonable circumstance, like fair taxation for the benefit of the citizenry as a whole) by the use of the overwhelming power of the state. Without the Marketplace, the place where the whole system of secular-rationalism, individual rights, the Law and Government all meet, whether of goods, services or ideas, the system as a whole could never be supported.

Without Economic Freedom, people are reluctant to work. They would refuse to co-operate except in the most extreme of circumstances. They would fight amongst themselves even more than they do now. Without the knowledge that there is some reward (a full belly, a roof over one's head, the ability to afford a minimum of comfort beyond those base requirements), people are not motivated to better themselves, their community, or their country. There must be a system of rewards for work and success (and this, naturally, also requires there be penalties for failure), regulated by fair law and custom, equally applied by governments given the authority to do so by free individuals by mutual consent, and always subject to public audit.

If you do not have those Four Institutions, you cannot have a democracy. If you have no history, no cultural record at all, of these conventions then it doesn't matter how many purple fingers there are, you're only going through the motions.

The real test as to whether voting Iraqis ultimately create anything of lasting value to the world or themselves, is whether or not they manage to establish these institutions on their own, or whether they will continue to be implemented under the cover of American guns for the next few centuries. Because what is passing for "democracy in action" in Iraq is nothing of the sort: Arab nations, and especially Arab nations under the influence of Islam, don't believe in Secular Rationalism, Individual Rights, Equality under the Law, Government by Consent of the Governed, or Economic or Intellectual freedom.

Right now, we might be protecting the next generation of would-be Saddam Husseins who are simply waiting for us to go home so that they can start blowing each other up in earnest in order to re-establish the pre-War status quo. It's what their history and their culture, compels them to do. We'll see if the fledgling "Iraqi Democracy" (and ditto for Afghanistan) manages to survive the removal of the American prop, but I wouldn't bet on it.

In the meantime, let's stop all this nonsense that George W. Bush is now somehow vindicated, or that Barack Obama has, miraculously and vicariously, accomplished something where his efforts were so much in obvious opposition. If memories really are that short -- Because Bush cited WMD's, and Obama was against the War and the Surge that seems to have "won" it --or that fungible, then we have some serious problems here at home to fix.

Note: As for me, my support for the Iraq War was always predicated on a much baser and cruder formulation; anything which promised to kill Muslims in large numbers in the wake of 9/11 was just fine by me. Where I opposed the War was the timid nature in which it was fought; there was less War -- and more Public Relations Campaign with Guns.
